Las Vegas: Venetian Spa and Pool
 

My wife and I are going to LV soon. We are going to stay at the Venetian. Typically whenever we travel, we like to do a "couples massage".

Has anyone have any specific experiences with the Spa/massage at Venetian...is it worth it?

Also has anyone been to the pool at Venetian. Good, avg. or poor? Are any heated?

I have been to the pool at the Venetian. Personally I was not that impressed. It is very large, but just rectanglar for the most part. Hardly any shade. There are much prettier pools on the strip. It was not rowdy like the Flamingo pool was when I was there. They serve drinks, etc. At the time, it was VERY hot out, so I really didn't care what the pool looked like. No waterfalls, etc.

I did the Canyon Ranch Spa with my sister in Jan. We both had a massage and it was quite heavenly! Did not do it together, but they did have a couple's massage available. It was a gorgeous spa and I would go again! Judy :-)

There are actually two pool areas at Venetian now. One of them is for the Venezia Towers. It was nice, we went late in the afternoon and it was pretty shady all around (Late July). We had also been to the pool in the original tower and it is 3 or 4 pools on the 4th floor rooftop. Pool service for cocktails was good, but it was later afternoon for both when we went to the pool.

A couple years ago, LA Times did a rating on Vegas Pools and Venetian was not one of the top pools, but I enjoyed it.

The spa I hear is very good.

is the Venezia tower suites better and more expensive? I heard its newer

I stayed at the Venetian this past July. We went to the pool around 2pm and there were no clean towels.
I also booked a massage at the spa the morning we were leaving. So I packed and headed down. When I got there they told me they were not able to do it at that time since they overbooke themselves. The staff at the spa was rude and incompetant.

Recently stayed at Mandalay Bay and Venetian. All just personal preferences but I loved the rooms at Venetian, prefered the spa and pool at Mandalay (just didn't have the right feeling at Venetian spa, just ok), casino at Venetian, food and atmosphere at both. The Venetian is visually stunning. Pool not heated.

The rooms in the Venezia Tower are newer. It was just opened last year. The problem I had with it is that we had a car and had to take about 3 elevators to get from the car to the room. (as opposed to 2 in the original Tower). It seemed like a long walk to the room once we were on the right floor.

We also paid a little more for the Venezia Tower. We were there after a conference and they gave us a special rate over the weekend ($149 vs. $129 the year before in the original tower).

In the older part, the rooms were still very nice. and I know they say they are the same size, but the Venezia Tower room seemed a little smaller. Maybe it was my imagination or the Martini's.

We did have a great view of the Mirage Volcano from the room in the Venezia tower. The other two times I had stayed, we had a desert view.

I love the Venetian, the only reason I would stay anywhere else is to try something new.

We stayed at the Venetian last weekend (3/13) for 3 nights - in a Palazzo suite in the Venezia Tower on the Concierge Level. The suite was very nice - at least 700 square feet, a king size bed, 2 flat screen tvs with dvd players, large marble bath with separate shower (and another flat screen tv) - all impeccably clean and in great shape. We had a great view of the Mirage Volcano and the upper strip - and all the way beyond the Rio to the mountains. The service was excellent - the attendants in the bar/food area remembered our names and drinks, and went the extra mile - refilling drinks and paying attention to our son. All the concierges were very helpful - we left something in a taxi and they worked hard to help us get it back, and asked after it the next day when they saw us again. Of course, it was a weekend and we paid a fair amount for the room - $350 per night. But we wanted to be comfortable and it was worth it to us. The concierge level includes complementary continental breakfast (unlimited coffee, cappucino, breakfast pastries, cereals and fruits) afternoon hors d'oeurves and drinks, also. It was VERY warm in Vegas last weekend - 80 or so. The large Venetian pool was not a great pool - a large rectangle with several hundred lounge chairs, and lots of fountains - pleasant enough to sit around as long as it doesn't get too hot. The other pool - the Venezia Tower pool, looked much more plesant - but was closed while we were there. The pool it self wasn't heated - but was warm enough for a dip. Not too many actually swam, tho - it was quite a scene, with cute waitresses serving the obvious "high rollers" and ignoring the masses. We went over to the Mirage and that pool looked like quite a scene - very tropical paradise in feel. The Mandaly Bay pool that we saw also looked lovely. The Bellagio pool seemed more like the Venetian's - a large square with lots of lounge chairs and not a lot of shade. We didn't check out the Canyon Ranch Spa, sorry. Hope this helps!
