las vegas trip to celebrate daughters 21st bday

My best friend and I are taking our daughters to Vegas to celebrate their 21st birthdays. We are going to be there from 3/24/13 through 3/28/13. We are staying at Circus Circus which I know is a bit of a dive, but as long as the room is clean, it is fine.
I would really like this to be a memorable trip for the girls, but money is tight, my friend and I both like to gamble, but we want it to be a more people watching and walking around trip. The girls both love art and music.
We are planning on getting the 3 day bus ticket for transport. We might try to see a show, butnot sure..looking for suggestions on what to do. This will be the adults 3rd trip to vegas. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated. Also, if anyone can give me info on how to email for coupon books, player cards, or print out coupons, that wojld be of breat help also.
Thank you!
Susan

I can't help but ask, why Las Vegas? If you don't plan to gamble and not sure if you want to see a show, why would want to go there? If the young women love art and music why not go someplace known for art and music rather than for gambling and shows. Please enlighten me.

Thanks for your response. I have planning this trip for a few years, or at least talked about it. We picked vegas becAuse it hasbeen a regular trip for my friend and I. Whenever we spoke of our previous trips, theysaid they would love to go. It is of a "let go and runaway from life trip" Don't know if that helps.

I don't have any answers for you, but we took our daughter to LV for her 21st b/d and she loved it. She liked the fact that she could be there and if she got carded, she could show "legal" ID!

Bag Circus Circus (out in the middle of nowhere) - and stay somewhere nicer/closer to the main attractions. Google away to find deals - and maybe even stay off strip - at the Rio - which has nice rooms, a good pool and they have a shuttle to center strip.

Search for "cheapo vegas" or "free in vegas"

There are places that sell show tickets for 1/2 price - of course you can't get to Cirque du Soleil, but worth checking out.

Check all coupons in all publications in the hotel lobby.

Cirque's location is not so good. I agree you should stay on the strip, see if you can stay in Excalibur or Luxor.

Look at smartervegas.com for codes for hotels. Stay some where nicer and mid strip, close to all the good stuff.

While my opinion that staying more center strip would be a much preferable location than Circus Circus, I have always found the hotel rates in late March to be on the higher end - possibly in part due to March Madness.

However, as long as your reservations at Circus Circus are not non-refundable, I would look for promo codes for hotels. I was in Vegas last week and used a promo code I found at smartervegas.com for the Flamingo for $35 per night (midweek). I also sometimes use earlyvegas.com to look for codes. These sites also have promo codes for shows.

For the player cards, there are desks in all of the casinos for you to sign up at.

You can get the Luxor for $40 some times (and their pool complex is awesome); why on earth Circus Circus?! (Even Excalibur is way better, and probably cheaper than Luxor.)
Check out the V, The Ultimate Variety Show (miracle mile, formerly Aladdin shops). Incredibly entertaining show (one of the best I've seen) for bargain prices (look for deals online).
If you are at Luxor or Excalibur, you can take the monorail (or walk through Luxor) to the fun stuff at Mandalay Bay; the Shark Reef is great, and there are lots of discount coupons available. (The girls would love the House of Blues, and there are tons of penny slots at Mandalay, too.)

Your dates are showing Excalibur $28 and Luxor $35 for your dates in March. I'd jump on that!

p.s. check out which hotels charge resort fees; that can be sneaky.
Here's a link to V tics; the site also has the hotel rates.

That they will be clean is a huge leap of faith IMO. Book one of the other hotels mentioned above. Circus Circus is a dump.

If you can get Flamingo - center strip - for $35 - would jump on that. Then get to know the front desk and request a room up high - ideally 18th floor on up - on the side facing Bally's - and toward the Strip - so you can watch the great Bellagio fountains from your room.

We have a little wine and cheese while we enjoy watching the fountains do their magic - before heading out for the evening. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=A-ZpUzZ4YC4
