I think that's great that you took your kids. Ours is two so we left her with the grandparents for a few days, but from now on she goes with us everywhere.

I have already told my wife that I have no problems at all taking the kids out of school for a week to go traveling. Going place expends your horizons, gives you new perspective and will teach you a lot.
