Las Vegas trip report, just got back last night
My dad was visiting us for Thanksgiving then he and I went to Las Vegas Saturday, while my husband watched our 2 yr old at home.

The airport really didn't seem that busy on Saturday. Only 5min wait through security. Grabbed a cab and checked into the Monte Carlo about 2pm, the lobby was very nice & they had already gotten a lot of the C-mas decorations up. We went to our room, so-so, I liked the decor, but wasn't impressed with the beds or furniture. Our view was of the pools & the parking lot. (Sat night rate $89, Sun & Mon (for dad) $39) We were downstairs by 2:30 and found a $5 roulette table, after 45min I was up $20 & dad was even, so we quit. About 5pm we took a cab to Mirage and had dinner at Kokomo's. The atmosphere was very nice, lush tropical jungle, and the hostess was very gracious. I was not impressed with my $38 NY Strip, I actually prefer the $17 filet I get at Outback. I didn't even care for the sauteed mushrooms, not sure what wine or whatever they were prepared in. My dad did like his chilean seabass very much. We went to Treasure Island and just played some slots and nickel machines before Mystere at 10:30pm. The show was fabulous! I highly recommend it to anyone. It was an amazing performance. We were sound asleep by 1am.

Sunday morning my dad went downstairs about 7am and I slept until 10am, which is unheard of with a 2 yr old! I had blueberry pancakes and coffee, then we were off to find another $5 roulette table. What is this, all $10 already? at 11am? We did find an empty table, and asked if we could play $5 minimum, and after checking with the pit-boss, he said we could! Hooray! After 45min I was down $15, and dad was bust from $40, so we quit. We then walked up to Venetian and had lunch at the deli at the foodcourt, it was very good, but they wouldn't make me a double-decker? Oh well. After some more machines, it's time to head back & pack up. I left about 3:30 for the airport. My flight was delayed an hour, so I watched the SD Chargers game, woo hoo!! then dropped $10 on a nickel machine. I made it home about 9pm and my nusband survived 36 hours with the baby. I had a very nice getaway trip.

What?!?!? You left you 2 yr. old at home with your husband?!?!? BIG mistake! I'm sure he didn't know the first thing that kid needed while Mommy was out playin' the slots in Sin City. Shamefull!!!

Actually, my husband did a great job. He took him to the movies to see Treasure Planet and they shared popcorn, he made him chicken nuggets & tater tots for dinner, he gave him a bath, he even mopped the kitchen and vacuumed the living room! Everyone had a great weekend!

Hope you enjoyed your mini-vacation, Emily. It sounds like a wonderful break. Too bad you had to escape that fantasy land and come back here to the real world filled with a--holes like jenni.

Emily, thank you for taking your time to come back and let us all know about your wonderful trip. I'm sure many of us appreciate it especially the mothers who know how busy you are with a 2 year old. Don't pay attention to any negative replies - these are only the ones who envy you.

this thread gets the misguided, low energy award for today. and jenni, you're a hoot! cannot imagine why anyone took time to take you seriously.

For $2.00 you can take a bus downtown and play roulette or craps for 25cents. Won $85.00 playing that way.
That is if you don't mind playing at the El Cortez with Las Vegas's finest.
