Las Vegas Tourist Stats?

Anybody have any idea what are the busiest and least busiest times/months for travel to Las Vegas? Oh, all right, I really only care about the LEAST busiest ... which, of course, is when I want to go!

Midweek, unless there is a major convention in town. Vegas is SoCal's weekend playground. You'll want to avoid New Years and Superbowl weekend too.

Being from Vegas the summer months are always dead. This is why you can get so many great deals on hotel rooms. I get offers of $19.00 for a few off the strip and the Venetian for $99.00. Particularly during the week. It all depends if their are no events going on. If their is a big fight in town then they are packed.

Except for when conventions are in town January is pretty dead.

What are the so-called "convention" months?

There are conventions all year long. You just need to be concerned with the larger ones. Hre are two websites that list upcoming conventions and the expected attendence.

Try the dates of December 19 - December 23. I'll bet you'll find some pretty good deals out there. The week before Christmas (Sun-Thu) is usually the cheapest week of the year.

I agree with VegasLocal,

We once went the 2nd week in December and it's the only time in nearly 15 yrs of traveling to Vegas that I would describe it as "dead". The cab drivers, dealers and other locals we talked to said that the weeks between
Thanksgiving and Christmas are generally their slowest.

I don't agree that the summer months are dead. We were there last weekend and it was just as busy on Monday as it was on Saturday. Oh, and it was 114 degrees on Sunday ((#))
