Las Vegas Temps in Feb?
Am hoping to visit Vegas in middle of Feb to celebrate my boyfriend's 40th birthday. We have visited once before in June and found it too hot for us British. What sort of temps can we expect ? Much better than cold/rainy UK, but will we be able to sunbathe ? Any recomendations for hotels with heated pools or do most hotels have them ?

It will be cold, maybe 50's (F) during the day, most pools will be closed though there are a few hotels that have winter pools, none of which have I ever stayed at.
|
It could get colder then 50. And it seems colder because the wind seems to blow harder when it's cold. It could be balmy too.
|
It could certainly be chilly but it really isn't that big a deal. I was there last year in December with rainy temps in the 30 and 40's but you spend so much time in the huge casinos that it is a total BLAST no matter what. I would rather the chilly than 100 degree heat given the choice.

Average daily high in mid-February is 63, nightly low 38. Average of 5 nights below freezing.
80% of days are sunny, 3 rainy days in February. LV gets only 4 inches of rain per year, spread out over 26 days (avg). You won't want to spend time at a pool unless there's an unusual heat wave, and most (but not all) pools are closed in Feb. |
We were in Vegas last year on Valentine's (Feb.14). 2 days it was hot, OK to suntan. The other 2 was cold, sweater at daytime, windbreaker at night especially if you are outside waiting for the fountains to start.
You can check the weather at weather.com or accuweather.com 15 days in advance. |
Thanks very much for all the advice. I seem to have established that Vegas in Feb is not the place to go for the sun ! Can anyone recommend a place where we could also visit in conjunction with Vegas for some sun ? Say have a week in Vegas and then spend 4 days somewhere warm nearby, maybe Palm Springs ??
