Las Vegas Stay
How long is it ideal to stay in Las Vegas? I'm not much of a gambler and would just like to see all the difft attractions. Would 5 days be too long?

If you have never been there, you can find enough to do to make a 5 day, 4 nt trip worth while. Remember, though, that alot of what the 'attractions' are is just visiting and seeing the casinos. Depending on how much you are 'not much of a gambler' will influence whether you will find visiting casinos a worthwhile way to spend your time. Of course, you can spend time visiting other things, such as Hoover Dam and Red Rock Canyon, so it really depends on what your interests are. How active are you? Do you want to go out and party? You you like to stay out at night, or are you the type to call it a night at 11pm? Do you enjoy shopping? Who else is going on this trip? Are there kids under 21, or just adults? What time of the yr are you going? Do you want to include down time to sit by the pool and relax, or is that something you have no desire to do? Do you like to go see stage shows, knowing that they are somewhat pricey? Where are you coming from( this makes a difference, since travel times affect the actual amount of time you have in LV)?

Hi
The first time we went to LV we stayed for 5 days. Two of those days we rented a car and drove out to Lake Mead and Hoover Dam and spent part of a day at Red Rock Canyon.
There is so much to see on the Strip, shopping, eating, shows, that we found it to be just the right amount of time.
Now when we go, it is usually for 3 days.
Try to book restaurant reservations ahead and shows!

you'll find enough to do in 5 days if you plan to rent a car and explore the surrounding area. go downtown to freemont street one night. they have a laser light show that is cool to see and the restaurants are usually cheaper.

5 days is about right as long as you have a car. There is a lot of stuff to do during the day off the strip. We only go to the strip and downtown at night. Too much other stuff during the day.

We don't gamble much but still like to spend 1 week every 18 months or so. Just an exciting city!
Enjoy,
Duane

Not much to do during the day. If you're not into gambling be sure to book some shows. I think 5 days is too long if you're not there for the casinos. If you like Disneyworld, you'll like the themes of each resort. If you don't like that, you'll be bored and maybe even overwhelmed with the enormity of the casinos. The resorts are all structures so you MUST walk through the casinos to get to restaurants or shows.

I think 5 days is a stretch for a non-gambler. Try to arrange a side-trip to a nearby location such as Hoover dam, Red Rock Canyon, Lake Mead or even the Grand Canyon. Two or three days for a non-gambler in my opinion is sufficient time to spend in Las Vegas.
