Las Vegas Shows
Hello,
My wife and I are going to Las Vegas next month for a week. Has anybody seen Penn and Teller, Jubilee, or Blue Man Group? Please give your comments and reviews. What do you think is the best comedy? We are not interested in Cirque this time. Thanks. |
I loved the Rick Thomas magic show. He uses several tigers. His shows are in the afternoon, and very affordable compared to others. When I saw him a couple years ago, I was with a friend who is himself a magician, and he loved the show too. Great use of music, dance, humor.
I found this link with the show schedule at the Orleans: www.lasvegashotel.com/showinfo.php3?ID=44 and his site: www.rickthomas.com |
Penn & Teller, I've not seen Jubilee & really don't care for Blue Man Group. Also take a look at The Amazing Jonathan. More funny than P & T, but less magic.

I've only seen Blue Man - it's my favorite show. Okay, I confess. I've seen it 5 times. :) I would (of course) recommend it, but it is a bit of an odd show. It's absolutely good, clean fun, but not something everyone cares for.
I also agree with Lisa - the Rick Thomas is a fun afternoon show. His tricks are not as huge as Penn/Teller, etc. but the tickets are a great price and the tigers are awesome. As for comedy, Wayne Brady would be my choice. I have not seen it personally, but have heard good things. |
I've not seen Penn & Teller but plan to on our next visit. I believe it geats pretty good reviews. Here's the shows we've seen and in the order we enjoyed. The only one I can absolutely say is awful is Chris Angel.
1. Love 2. Mystere 3. Blue Man Group 4. KA 5. O (really a toss-up with KA) 6. Chris Angel (B-A-D!) |
Penn & Teller are REALLY good! I remember seeing something when we were there in July that said this is their last year to perform?
Check online to see if any headliner comedians will be in town during your visit. I saw Jerry Seinfeld and Jay Leno this way and they were GREAT! |
