Las Vegas rooms from priceline: where's a nice area to stay that's not so crowded and within reach of popular attractions?
I'm trying to get a room on Priceline and the areas they pose as options for Las Vegas are: West Las Vegas, UNLV area, North Strip/Convention Center, South Strip/Casino Area, Boulder Strip, Fremont St. vicinity or Northwest Las Vegas. Also, I'll have a car and it'd be nice to get a hotel in an area with has ample parking (free?). Suggestions appreciated.

Mary:
Pleas go to the travel bulleten board for Priceline:

There is an extensive section on bidding for Las Vegas hotels - I have made many a post on my winning bids there.

I'd definitely go only for a hotel on the South strip/Casino area. I believe every major hotel has plenty of free parking, but beware. There are those here who think you are very tacky if you want to park it yourself -- despite the fact that all the hotels have huge garages for self-parking and you won't have the delays of waiting for your car when you park or try to pick it up. Of course, I've been called a liar because I had to wait 45 minutes for my car -- I guess my watch was running on triple speed that day and I made a mistake. It was really probably only 15 minutes but my watch told me it was 45.

Nope, Pat, your watch wasn't fast.
I've had the same problem.
I always self park, even if it's a long walk and even if I have to traipse thru the casino with my bags (tacky, yes), because it's still a LOT faster than valet, and I tend to use the car several times during my stay.
