Las Vegas room with separate living/bedroom area?

My husband and I will be in Las Vegas in late July for a couple of nights on our way home from California. We both enjoy gambling, but he's a real night owl and I'm an early bird. We're looking for a hotel room that has an area separate from the bedroom so I can get up early without waking or disturbing him. We've checked Bellagio and Paris because we like that area, but room prices go from what we consider normal to very expensive. Either a king room, or a suite befitting a king.

I don't want to tell you how many times I've gotten up early and gone to the bathroom to sit on the floor or in the tub to read. Since I'll be 70 in a few months, I've decided I don't have to do that anymore. Does anyone have any ideas for us? Thanks in advance!

We stayed at The Signature at MGM Grand in January. Loved it.

They have specials and sales, especially for summer. I get deals via email every day.

Also, good deals here: http://www.smartervegas.com/hotels/t...onalcodes.aspx

Sign up for smartervegas' "unlisted" offers, it's on the upper right corner of the home page.

You can stay at some Hilton Grand Vacation resorts without being an Owner.

All hotels have suites - and yes, they cost more. Try a less expensive place than the Bellagio - but be sure to see room configuration - since many just have a sofa in the corner vs a separate LR.

I once reserved a standard room at the Fiesta in Henderson. When we arrived the guy behind the desk gave us a suite at the same price. The suite had two bathrooms and the living room separate from the bedroom.
I even learned how to check out on the TV screen. If you're going to gamble, there's not too much difference between the "strip" and Henderson.
Be sure to see Hoover Dam on the way home if you have not seen it. The walk on the new bridge is exciting too.

Marriot Grand Chateau, next to Planet Hollywood and across from Bellagio. The 1-bedroom units have a separate living room area with comfortable sofa bed, and the bathroom can be accessed from a door to the bedroom or a door from the kitchen. Husband can crawl in late at night and bypass the living room area if you are sleeping and slip into the bedroom via the bathroom.

I'd also opt for the Hilton Grand Estates.

THEhotel @ Mandalay Bay, has the separate accommodations you hope for. The all-suite tower hotel that adjoins www.mandalay.com are at least 700sq.ft, with a roomy bath and a 2nd lavatory - just right for those early mornings.

I looked at THEhotel last night, and was very pleasantly surprised with the rates - two nights for $301! And hopefully, the pictures are an accurate depiction of the accommodation because they're lovely. The location isn't too good, but to get such a great room, we'll deal with it. Thanks for all your suggestions!

Wyndham Grand Desert suites. Condo rentals are outstanding.
Free shuttle to Harrah's during the day, lovely amenities.

I stayed here as part of a group, and we had loads of room, in a three bedroom, two bath, full kitchen.

Not only is the MGM Signature a great place to stay (it will require extra walking) there is a great deal being offered on LivingSocial.com I use this site quite often and get great deals https://www.livingsocial.com/escapes...vegas-citywide The Venetian and Palazzo are sister hotels on the Strip and both are ALL SUITE hotels with fantastic accommodations and great locations. Here's an article with lots of websites that can save you some travel dollars. http://www.lasvegasbylocals.com/save...s-restaurants/ I live in Vegas, have stayed at both the Venetian & Palazzo on stay-cations. Great restaurants too!

It's worth noting that Venetian and Palazzo rooms are suites in name only. The "suite" consists of a single space, with a sunken living room. There's no wall between the areas. Turn on a light in one area, and you'll see it in the other area; make noise in one area, and you'll hear it in the other.

Just as a follow-up, our plans changed. We ended up staying one night at Vdaro on our way to Monterey and one night at THEHotel on our way back. Vdaro was in a better location, and though the rooms were bigger, and they had a big kitchen (and washing machine and dryer!), the living area was dark and the lights were barely better than a bad flashlight.

That sort of undid the whole idea of a separate room. I got up early, but had lots of difficulty seeing to read. The lack of a second bathroom was a shame, too, as both of us thought we remembered there was one. Unless we were going to be there for a REALLY extended period of time, we probably wouldn't stay there again.

THEHotel - while in an inconvenient location - suited our purposes perfectly. Two bathrooms, great lighting, really comfy bed and bedding. One bad thing...$4 for a cup of do-it-yourself coffee. All in all a very nice experience. Personnel in both hotels were very friendly and accommodating. Thanks again for all your suggestions! Wish we'd had more time to enjoy Las Vegas.

Forgot to mention that we stayed at the Palazzo a couple of years ago and even though we'd seen pictures, we were disappointed that there was no separation between the rooms other than a few steps. Enormous space, but just not what we were looking for.
