Las Vegas room availability/rates for Oct - Yikes!
I am trying to book a special birthday weekend for Oct 24-25. There are 3 of us going, my husband, me and our 11 yr old. My 1st choice is the Bellagio which is booked. The Venetian is 2nd which has rooms but at $1100+ per night!!!! The same room goes down to about $250 for Sunday night. My 3rd choice is Four Seasons which has some rooms for $420 on Sat-Sun, going dow n to $305 on Sunday night, but it doesn't have the central location. One of the main reasons that I wanted to stay at Bellagio is to get preferred seating for the cirque du soleil show "O". The tickets that I can get on my own from the web site are pretty poor. Here are my questions - is there some major convention that weekend that is booking up the hotel rooms? If I wait until closer to the dates, will I have a good shot at hotel rooms at the Bellagio? What are my chances of getting good seats for "O" through Bellagio if I wait until the last minute? Thanks for your help!

try www.funjetvacations.com. Get tickets for O asap, they may be already sold out. Sounds like a convention.

lvrs.com and lvtb.com still show availability for those nights at Bellagio. Check the cancellation policy because when using a discounter, they can be very strict.
Then call the Bellagio and advise of your predicament. Tell them that you will be a guest of the hotel but are purchasing your room through a discounter. Ask if you would still be eligible for preferred "O" rates since you are still technically a hotel guest.

Actually, there are several large conventions that weekend. October is a big month for conventions. Here's the LVC&VB Convention Calendar: http://www.lvcva.com/finder/conventioncalendar

Can you go midweek? I am going for my birthday a week early, from Oct 21-24 and it's very, very cheap and there's lots of show availabilities still. I understand that sometimes ya gotta do it over the weekend due to school and work, but you get way more for your $$ and fight the crowds a lot less if you can avoid the weekend. Good luck!

Thanks for all of your suggestions and no, I couldn't change my dates due to school & work.I checked with funjet vacations and got a good deal on the flight and room (they did have rooms at Bellagio and cheaper price than Expedia!). These consolidators are the way to go since the Bellagio site continues to be sold out for the same dates. Also, once I had my Funjet reservation number, I was able to get good seats to "O" through the concierge at Bellagio. The concierge told me that the Bellagio hotel keeps sections 102 and 104 of the theatre for hotel guests only. Thanks for the advice!

Glad that worked out for you Ellenbw. I accidentally stumbled of funjet when plaiing a trip to Hawaii and realized they do Las Vegas too. Glad you got to take advantage of the discount, the same thing happened to me when planning a Las Vegas weekend. Have a great time.
