Las Vegas Restaurants
 

Hi all, we will be in Las Vegas, first trip and will be celebrating our 25th wedding anniversary. We are staying at the Bellagio, late September, seeing two shows, 4 nights. We would love some dinner recommendations. I see that Prime has a filet for 62, just for the steak. That is pricey for me. So, would love some recommendations for a good steakhouse that is reasonable, maybe 40ish for the filet, and a great italian restaurant would be appreciated too! Thanks!

I know that the Circus Circus is NOT a place where very many fodorites want to visit or stay (I agree), but they do have an excellent and reasonable steak house in the casino area. Not the ambiance of the newer more modern casino hotels, but still an excellent meal. I can't come up with the name right now, but I'm sure it is easy enough to find. Belagio has excellent choices (Circo for one) for dining with a view of the fountains, but the price may be an issue for you.

Thanks for the recommendations! Debit, it is the greek restaurant at the Cosmopolitan that you liked? and Simpson, it is called The Steakhouse and gets good reviews! So, will check into them more.

There are just so many restaurants! I would love to hear more good feedback from others! I just don't want to spend ridiculous amounts of money and the meal isn't even worth it. I can get a good steak at our local Ruths Chris,but would like a nice steak meal one night, and a nice italian meal another. (Since Virginia italian food is so so, I grew up in Jersey where good italian was always around the corner). I am not interested in the Maggianos or chains for Italian. Would love a good italian that is not in every city in America.

Yes, Milos is where we had great lunch and D.O. C. G. was excellent for dinner as well.

Have heard the buffets are great too. Any favorites? We are staying at the Bellagio.

I love the buffet at Paris, esp as a brunch. (The only buffet we go to!) Best baguettes and crepes I have had outside of the real Paris! It is not a terribly long walk, by LV standards to go from Bellagio to Paris.

The newest (and arguably due to its newness the most popular) buffet on the strip right now is the Bacchanal Buffet at Caesar's. It opened last November (or so), we tried it in January.

We had pretty much phased out of going to buffets while in Vegas, but we wanted to see if all of the hype was justified.

It's one of the more expensive buffets (pricing is similar to the Bellagio and Wynn buffet) and the lines can be ridiculous.

However, I thought the buffet was pretty good - they've incorporated the small plate servings like the Wicked Spoon buffet at the Cosmo in many of their offerings. On our visit, I found the food quality to be very good and several dishes were excellent.

There is an awesome steakhouse at the MGM Grand, I think it is called "Craft Steak" delish and nice. Vegas Can be a little expensive for food, but there is no shortage of good food and choices. I did eat at a wonderful Italian restaurant at the Bellagio, can't remember what it was called but you can actually see the fountain show from the restaurant, that might be a fun romantic option. Also, the restaurant at the base of the Eiffel tower at the Paris is great for brunch and very yummy.

At the Paris, Mon Ami Gabi is a good choice. Weather permitting you can sit outside and see the fountains across the street (in between cars that is). Good steak frites. Mostly eat there for lunch.
For streak our favorite is Delmonico's in the Venentian.

We have eaten at Craft in Los Angeles and if the LV location is up to that standard, that would really be good. Very expensive but so delicious!

I liked the Steak Frites at Mon Ami Gabi which is across the street from your hotel. Canaletto in the Venetian Hotel for Italian, especially if you're with a group (they'll give you a balcony table overlooking the 'venice canals w 6 or more).

Great Happy Hour at the Burger Bar in Mandalay Place, get the FAT fries not the skinny ones, with 3 dipping sauces.
