Las Vegas Restaurants

My husband and I will be in Vegas for only 2 nights, staying at Caesars Palace. We are in our 50's, like nice restaurants with great atmosphere and great food. The only type of food we don't like is Sushi.

If you only had 2 nights, what restaurants would you pick?

Thanks for your help.

At Ceasar's we like Mesa Grill (Bobby Flay's restaurant) & Rao's (Italian). Wolfgang Puck has 2 places in Cesears which are also good.

My favorites are "Sensai" I am not sure of the spelling...but great atmosphere, at the Bellagio. It has granite walls with water features and is asian italian fusion, which sounds weird but was delicious. I also love Emeril's Delmonicos at the Venetian. I ,unlike the above poster, was totally unimpressed and underwhelmed by Mesa Grill...no atmosphere(feels like your in the middle of the mall), the wait was long(even with reservations), and the food was very mediocre. Just my opinions.Enjoy and yum!! For lunch the Venetian has many "outdoor" restaurants in the canal shoppes that face a fake Piazza. They have an operetta daily around lunch time that is fun. Call and check the times. Sorry rambling...Enjoy!

Gosh, there is no shortage of nice restaurants in Vegas. I guess we can throw out some suggestions and you pick based on your taste?

In the Bellagio, I liked Olives. In the Venetian, I liked Bouchon. Last time I went, many people highly recommended Rosemary's, which is waaaaaaayyyy off the strip. It's a very good restaurant, but I can't totally vouch for it because I was by myself and didn't feel that comfortable.

Too bad the Commander's Palace isn't still there!

MORE CASUAL DINING (Lunches):

Try to walk over to The Mirage (same side of street and very close to your hotel) and have lunch at Carnegie Deli (very casual, very large portions - wait until you see the sandwiches, and very delicious!

You can also catch a cab or walk down to the NYNY Casino/Hotel (located on the same side of the strip) and choose a restaurant there. Walking there, you can get a good view of the fountains at Bellagio and the Eiffel Tower at Paris-Las Vegas (recommend doing this at night for optium viewing pleasure).

New Yorkers know food! At New York-New York Hotel & Casino, we've built our city's restaurants around the famous flavors that make the Big Apple simply delicious! Savor irresistible taste after taste of Manhattan from our sumptuous variety of restaurants including Il Fornaio.

For dinner; We have eaten at Bobby Flay's Mesa Grill and thought it was "okay". Personally, I think it's overpriced and overly popular due to the food network. Hopefully, other fodorites will offer a better solution for your dinner options.

I had dinner at Olive's last week, certainly get the flatbreads, they are Wonderful. If it's not over 100 degrees, you may be able to sit on the outdoor patio and watch the fountains.
Also enjoyed Delmonico's (classic steakhouse owned by Emeril) in the Venetian.
Had lunch at Rosemary's, but you need a car to get there (at least a half hour drive.) Food was very good, but not worth a cab trip. Lunch was $23 with a coupon from their webste.

Last time there dined at Olives, Simon Kitchen (no longer at Hard Rock, but Kerry Simon has opened two new restaurants in Vegas!), Postrio and Mesa Grill.

The only disappointment was Mesa Grill-service and food both mediocre. I would highly recommend the other three, especially any Kerry Simon restaurant.

For lunch, we enjoyed Terrace Pointe Cafe at Wynn and Burger Bar at Mandalay Bay.

Emril's Delmonico Steakhouse - Venetian
RM Seafood - Mandalay Bay
Bubbles Bar (for champagne and "small bites") in the new tower at Caesar's Palace.
