We will be in Las Vegas for 3 nights. We are thinking of French food for our 1st night, then Steak place and seafood/sushi for 2nd and 3rd nights.

French: We prefer not to do a prix fixe menu - I have some health limitations and can't eat a lot at once and cannot eat sugar at all, so desserts are out for me as is alcohol. DH will indulge in wine and cocktails, but probably doesn't care about dessert. We also do not want to pay $500 for 2 so Alex might be out.

Steak: Considering DelMonicos = other ideas?

Seafood/Sushi: Not sure....
We plan to go to Bon Amie Gabi and Bouchon for breakfast. Maybe Mesa Grill for lunch..

DB Brasserie at the Wynn has a great $45 prix fixe and is a great French bistro.
Okada at the Wynn for sushi is one of the best.
Delmonico's at the Venetian is good and reasonable.
Bouchon for breakfast is excellent and we like it for champagne and mussels for dinner too.
We love Alex but its crazy these days to pay $500 for dinner.
Country Club at the Wynn is quite good and flies under the radar.
Lotus of Siam off the strip is one of the best Thai places in the world..you can go for lunch but don't do the buffet.
Burger Bar at Mandalay is good and cheap.
Mixed results on Bon Amie.
The Wynn has tons of great restaurants.

We enjoyed:
Delmonico's. We shared everything from apps to entree and loved it. Plus, we weren't stuffed.
Taos: Very good.
Buchon: Breakfast was delicious. Not a fan of the dinner menu.
We did not enjoy:
Mesa Grill: Overpriced for the "Bobby Flay" factor and the food was so-so.

Here's a link to a similar Fodor's thread last month ... we're going next month and Robuchon's is # 1 on our list, you can keep it under your target price if you skip or at least skimp on wine (I know, ouch!) ...

I second that the Wynn has amazing restaurants.

We have also enjoyed BOA Steakhouse in the Forum shopping. Have not been to Mesa Grill in Las Vegas but loved it in the Bahamas. Enjoyed Tao at the Venetian. Las Vegas has some of the best eating around imo.

We ate lunch at Mesa Grill and enjoyed it! Of course I agree on the $$$ factor.. we paid $66 for lunch for 2.. with one appetizer, no alcohol... but I enjoyed it and I wanted to do it..

We're doing lunch again at Mon Ami Gabi, loved their steak sandwiches..

We're also going back to Caneloni's at Venetian..

We might try some things at the Wynn this time... We also did The Mix at The Hotel.. the Chinese place at Mandalay Bay.. can't remember some others.. they were all really good!

I think the better bet is breakfast at Mon Ami Gabi and dinner at Bouchon.

Breakfast is awesome at Mon Ami Gabi, especially at a table on the terrace in the nice weather. The noise level at dinner, however, is horrendous. It's much more peaceful at Bouchon at dinner.

While the dinner menu at Bouchon didn't wow me, the food certainly did. I had a turnip soup that I will remember until the day I die. Whodathought?

I like Mon Ami Gabi too. If it's too cool to eat outside, their solarium type dining room is the next best thing.

My wife and I also like Mon Ami Gabi.

For an excellent steak and a taste of old school Las Vegas, I recommend Binions Ranch Steakhouse in downtown. Make a reservation and ask for a window table. The view of the entire Las Vegas valley from the 24th floor at night is spectacular. Avoid the fried lobster tail.
