I am getting lots of emails about deals on Monday so that's when I would look. Read the fine print...

Circus circus is a stinky, rowdy kid infested hotel in dodgy location.

Taltul - I've had the same thoughts as you and have looked at some nice places off the strip. However, the one person in our group who is mobility impaired wants to stay in a hotel with a casino. She's the person who likes to gamble the most. If she doesn't feel like going far, she can stay in the hotel and gamble and go back to her room if she needs to rest. We aren't going to rent a car. Too much trouble for 5 people with luggage.

I will be looking on Monday. I saw some deals Friday, but not a lot of savings for June.

We have decided against Circus Circus. I have convinced the group we don't want to stay that far north. At the moment, based on prices for June, we are looking at Luxor and Excalibur. I personally would choose Luxor, but we shall see what the others want to do.

A good friend of mine who is an LA groupie (been there many times and says it's his favorite vacation) recommended Luxor to me. We're not into gambling (just recreational to say that we lost money in Vegas) so it wasn't a problem to "give up" having a casino in the hotel.
We're also coming to the States for a 6 week trip that includes LV so keeping costs down where we can (no resort fees) is important to us. If we were just going to Vegas, we'd probably be willing to splash out to be on the Strip.
