Las Vegas / Parking?
Is it true that parking is free in Las Vegas.
I am planning on renting a car and would like to know about parking facilities.

HELP!
|
I just returned from Las Vegas. We did not rent a car, but I noticed that all the hotels have big parking garages that are free.
|
Most all of the major hotels in Vegas have complimentary valet parking. They expect you to lose all you cash in the casino in return.
|
Parking in LV is free virtually everywhere.
The catch is, many of the casino garages are so huge that you have to consider whether or not to take provisions with you for the trip into the building if you park during peak times.

If you can avoid using the parking garage, I would. They can occasionally be "unsafe". If you use the garage, try and go out to your car with a group or a security guard.

Valet is the best way to go. Remember not to leave anything of value in the car, and tip the guy a buck or two when you get your car.

Enjoy you trip!
Jim;HereHuGo.com
The Travel Search Engine
http://www.herehugo.com
Parking is free at all the hotels. We've driven to 'Vegas dozens of times and never encountered any trouble leaving our car in a hotel garage. Most hotel parking lots/garages are large complexes tho so try and remember where you parked your car.

It is true that parking is free. However I have two suggestions. First, forget the rental car unless you plan some trips out of town. Traffic is horrendous and there are better alternatives then driving. Second, if you insist on getting a rental car then always use valet parking. Valet parking is free though it is customary to tip $1-2 when picking up your car. The tip is a very low price to pay for your security and convenience. Often it is quite a hike from the parking garage to the casino. However above all is security. A substantial amount of the crime in Las Vegas occurs in the parking garages.
