las vegas off strip casinos
Hi - looking for suggestions for off strip casinos. We will have a car.
Thanks - |
Palace Station was OK. Somewhat smoky, especially compared to the big Strip places. Their Broiler steakhouse was really good!

I like the Orleans. Have stayed there every visit for about five years now.
I think a lot of locals gamble at Orleans. I'm not much of a gambler myself, but I did win $250 a couple of years ago. |
Depending on your age group, the Palm and Hard Rock are very popular off strip with the younger crowd. If you are up to downtown, the Nugget is newly remodeled and the nicest plays on Fremont St. by far. LV Hilton is off strip, on the monorail, recently renovated and maybe worth checking out.

Red Rock Casino up in Summerlin is very nice, so is Green Valley Ranch.

A few years back I spent an enjoyable afternoon at Arizona Charlies (Dekatur BLvd), playing blackjack at $2.00 per hand. Everyone else at the table was a local, including a retired cabdriver, who entertained us all with his stories from driving a taxi in Las Vegas for 30 years.

My favorite is Green Valley Ranch off strip. they have a great pool, bars, and casino. I use destination360 for my resource on seeing the hotels since they have virtual tours of all the hotels in Las Vegas. If your looking for something a little cheaper try the Southpoint which is a new property off the strip.

Ditto on Orleans (will be there later this week!), and may get over to South Point. Also, Terribles, Gold Coast and any of the Station casinos.
