Las Vegas Off-Season?
I'm just wondering what time of year might the hotel rooms in Vegas be the cheapest. My gut says that it's probably summer when it's the hottest in Vegas...but I figured I'd ask to find out for sure. Thanks!

If you go to casino web sites you will find that some of them have calendars which show room prices on specific dates. A room that is $69 on Tuesday may be $279 on Friday. See Monte Carlo, Bally's, Mirage, GM Grand, etc.

Lovingheart has the right idea. The only true off-season in Vegas is midweek when no major conventions are in town. You can also find some decent deals between Thanksgiving and Christmas or Christmas and New Years, not including the actual holidays or weekends.

Yes, you probably have a better chance for low rates in the summer, but rates vary more by day of the week than by season. In many popular places, a Saturday night stay can be double the cost of a Tuesday night.

Midweeks in the summer, esp. August. I've been to LV twice in the past 5 years in the summer - once in early August, and once in late June. Fares were about the same, and jumped significantly on Friday and Saturday nights.
But I warn you - LV in August is killer hot. It was 112 each day, and they were in the middle of a horrid drought. We drove to LA, and it was 123 in the desert. Like a blast furnace! But, yes, a dry heat... |
June may be slightly off-season and way more cooler than August. It really doesn't get unbearable until July, but then it lasts until October. Yuck.

I go each year around the second week in Dec., midweek. Weather is fine and rates are usually at thier lowest. Good luck! |
Thanks all! I was just trying to figure out when to plan my Vegas trip. Sounds like June might work great!
