Bellagio is offering $109 for specific dates in Nov. Dec. and Jan. right on their website under special promotions.

I had Mandalay Bay booked for $89. $89, and $109 for Oct. 16-19, then I saw Venetian for about the same price on Cheaptickets.com. we decided to try the Venetian.

MLT ran a special this Wednesday. <BR>Free air from several cities to Vegas. <BR>If you booked the hotel with them. <BR>I booked the Flamingo Oct 21-25 for my <BR>husband and daughter. The cost for the 3 of us was $369 for 4 nights in Vegas from Minneapolis. <BR> <BR>The hotels must really be hurting!! <BR>

According to a rep at MGM Grand and at Bellagio and New York New York, they aren't hurting at all. I was told by three different reps (asked all three the same ?) that they can't remember a time that they've been busier. Especially now since it's convention time. This past weekend rooms went for $189, $199, and $139 for each place respectively. This was just by calling the hotels directly and asking for the least expensive rate. I realize that it's over the weekend, etc., but it really seems like this is another occasion when people are "crying wolf." <BR> <BR>

If the casino business is doing so well now, why are 10000 casino employees (recently laid off) sitting at home on unemployment?

Just came back from Las Vegas Saturday and week days the place was very empty, the week-ends got a little crowded, but not the norm. We had rooms booked months ago at Bally's and called and renegotiated with the hotel. Hotels were also offering discounted show tickets when you walked through the casino door.

Make that over 15,000 laid off.
