Las Vegas mid-price restaurants

We're going to be in Vegas for 3 nights, already have reservations at the Mesa Grill and Le Cirque. Has anyone had any less expensive, casual, but really good meals in Vegas? How's Olives?

I haven't tried Olives, but I've seen it suggested here enough that it's towards the top of my list the next time we're out there.

We were impressed by Il Fornaio and Nine Fine Irishmen in NYNY.

Mon Ami Gabi at Paris?

Joe's Stone Crab at Caesars/The Forum Shops.

there is an asian restaurant in Caesar's Palace that looks so cool and is reasonably priced; can't remember the name but they make noodles by hand in the window. You should at least walk around and check it out. Or google all the restaurants at Caesar's and it should come up. may have the number 9 in the name.

Olives is gorgeous; we ate at the bar. I had a great martini there.

I like the restuarant "Noodles" at the Bellagio. It has great asian noodle dishes and soups among other dishes. I think they have sushi also, but I have a personal policy against eating sushi in landlocked state. I also second Nine Fine Irishman in NYNY. They have a nice shepards pie. Great house band too.

Dined at Olives, was not impressed with the food. But, that was quite a few years back when Belaggio first opened, so maybe there is a new chef..

Strongly join in the suggestion for Mon Ami Gabi in Paris Hotel. Great food, fabulous wine selection (you can ask for a taste before you commit), gracious service.

I found that restaurant I mentioned earlier; it is called Beijing Noodle No. 9 and it is very moderately priced, rated $$ (15-25$). here is a link:

I agree about Olives, the food was respectable but not memorable. Not like the Olives in Boston. That's why I only mentioned the memorable martini there; I think the bread was great as well.

We've really enjoyed Lux Cafe at the Venetian for lunch. Reasonable prices & good food; stroll the shops after.

The Wolfgang Puck Bar & Grill, located at the MGM Grand

If you go to Mesa for lunch you will find it on the moderate side. Another good moderate place is Spago in Casears. While there some expensive things on the menu, the majority of the menu is quite reasonable.

Ellis Island Brewery, their 5 buck steak dinner and buck microbrew beers are about the only good deal left in Vegas.

We had wonderful meals last week in Vegas and we never spent more than $50 for two of us. But we ate off the strip; we had a rental car. If you rent a car (which cost us $47 for 3 days), I would highly recommend:

LOTUS OF SIAM on Sahara

CHINA MAMA on S. Jones Blvd. (see review)

There are many many Asian places on Spring Mountain Road that get good reviews and where you can eat for little money.

-Olives would be good for lunch, I enjoyed their flatbreads.

-Border Grill at Mandalay Bay for mexican.

-Cafe BabaReeba in the Fashion Show Mall for Spanish

-Mon Ami Gabi is great for French bistro food and has a great view of the Bellagio fountains.

I would agree that Spago is a good moderate choice but just wanted to clarify that the Cafe part is more moderately priced than the restaurant and offers anything from pizzas to pastas to fish. Also, Postrio, another Wolfgang Puck restaurant, is also a good moderate choice (in Venetian).
