Las Vegas Kid-Friendly Restaurants
Any suggestions for a fund or at least kid-friendly, restaurant for kids aged 9 (boy), 8 (girl) and 5 (boy) and their 40 something parents?

Rainforest Cafe at MGM. They also have live tigers there (not at the cafe, but close to it).

I thought I'd add this, in case you don't know, every 1/2 hour or so they have thunder, rain, and the animal statues move their heads, tails.
|
Margaritaville. I believe they have the same active volcano there as the other franchise locations. Pre-recorded Live footage of Jimmy on stage.

I don't know what you mean by "for a fund", but do your kids have any preferences in cuisine (or things to avoid), and what do you want to spend? Also, did you have anything specific in mind? The two previous recos are good for generic family recs, but if you have any specific desires (cost or cuisines, or atmosphere), someone might know more specifically.

If your kids like Chinese food there is a PF Chang's. It is just off the strip. It is a chain, but one of the better chains. Our kids (and us) love Chinese food and we usually eat there when in a city we are unfamiliar with.

She added a "d" by accident to the word "fun".

Jillian's downtown is part of a chain - they have video and other games for the kids to play before/after you eat. Loud. Burgers, etc., but decent.
The Courtyard Cafe in the Orleans has an extensive menu, fast service and (in my experience) pretty fast lines. Arizona Charlie's has a kiddie "amusement park." Not in the restaurant, but it is fun to visit before lunch/supper. Kids we've eaten with have enjoyed "Mimi's" - west of the Strip, west of Rainbow, I forget the cross streets, but I'm sure it's in the phone book. Kind of a French cafe with lots of sandwiches, etc. There's a salad bar restaurant called "Sweet Tomato" on Rainbow just a major block (or two) south of Cheyenne. Extensive salad selections, soups, finger food (chicken fingers, etc.), fruit, soft serve ice cream. All in a "serve yourself/all you can eat" format. One of our favorites. Of course, if you get away from the Strip, there is every type of chain restaurant - from McDonald's to TGIF to Outback Steakhouse...choose what you like. Gayle |
