Las vegas in December

I am planning on going to Las Vegas in December. Is this an ok time to go? i am not tobothered about the weather however i would like to know if it is still busy at this time and if everything is open as usual

Some of the shows take a break in December, so call and check ahead of time. I always go to Vegas in December, it's a lot of fun, Enjoy!

I guess it depends very much on whether you are planning to go before Christmas when it'll be much quieter or between Christmas and New Year when it's very busy and hotel prices etc are adjusted accordingly.

December is a month of two extremes in Vegas.

When we were in LV a little over a year ago, the local media indicated that the 10 days or so before Christmas (and after the rodeo finals) were the slowest time of year.

Indeed, as azgirl indicates, some of the larger shows were on break. But we had three mid-week nights at the Rio for $160 total--that more than made up for it. And it's really easy to get around--and park....

Definitely avoid it during the Rodeo Finals, unless that's what you're going to see. They usually start around the 5th and go for 10 days.

why avoid it during rodeo finals time?

Check the room rates. Think Spring Break for cowboys...

I've been there during NRF...I noticed nothing different from any other large group. It is actually impossible for any one group to pulverize Las Vegas...IMHO, any time is a good time to go to LV.......Have Fun!!

If you stay somewhere like Bellagio, you probably won't notice the crowds for the NFR. But if you stay at one of the sponsor hotels (Gold Coast, Mandalay Bay, and Luxor) you definitely will notice! Yes, the room rates generally go up accordingly.
