Las Vegas Hotels

Hi All!
My husband and I are trying to plan a quick trip (for next week!!) to Vegas. My problem is, is that I'm a hotel snob... they just gross me out in general. I've stayed at the Veneitan and LOVED it, but we don't have the money for that or the Bellagio. I'm looking for something CLEAN, not out of date, and that has actual down comforters, rather than the old ratty ones. Suggestions? I don't need SUPER cheap, but not as expensive as the Bellagio. How is the MGM Grand? I've read a bunch of bad reviews...
Thanks!! :)

We stayed at Treasure Island
http://www.treasureisland.com/ in June and thought it was nice. They had nice comforters. It looks like they have good rates for the first of next week. It was a convienent location also. I would have liked to stay at the Wynn and think next time we go we will stay there. We saw Spamalot at the Wynn and also saw Mystere. Enjoyed both shows and would recommend them both. I enjoyed O better than Mystere.

I am a hotel snob and usually only stay at the Wynn..but I do really like the Palms...great room, beds, linens and high end furniture..
I stayed years ago at the MGM and it was ok..friends who stay at the mansion love it but thats a whole different animal.
Did you check out Expedia or go direct to the hotels to see if there are some great deals out there?
Have fun!

Thanks so much! Does anyone have any thoughts on the Mirage or Luxor?

We spent six nights in Vegas in May (see my trip report). I am a designer and hotel interiors are important to me.

I loved the Venetian too, but if I went back tomorrow, I would book Mandalay again, they have just remodeled and we loved it! We liked trying a different part of the strip.

I have also stayed at Paris and the location can't be beat. The rooms aren't bad, not as "nice" as the Bellagio, but the Bellagio is beginning to show it's age and needs some updating in the rooms.

We got upgraded to a suite at Mandalay and it was WONDERFUL. THEhotel next door can't compete with that suite!

Go directly to their website or call about specials. I got a flyer in the mail for rooms $129 and suites $179.

Have fun!!!

I would regard Mirage, MGM, and Treasure Island all as more than acceptable and make your decision based on the best deal.

Just returned from MGM on a short budget (well, at least for lodging) The rooms were nice, and the beds had just recently been changed. Very comfortable and the comfortor was down....better than TI and Mirage IMO.

I really loved the MGM Grand and was surprised at just how nice the rooms were.

We stayed at the Mirage last June. It was o.k. in the linen dept. but certainly not plush. The bathrooms needed better lighting. The pool was the biggest plus. It was awesome and we are pretty much "pool people." Our choice was based on the pool primarily. I can't remember when I enjoyed a pool more, the ambiance, like the Caribbean.
