Las Vegas- Hotels
Planning on going to Vegas in May for 15 year anniversary...any ideas of where to stay? what to do? Would like to stay on the strip (I guess) in the middle. Going for 4 days...Thanks

It depends on your budget and what you want to do while there. The Bellagio is very near center, but is expensive. Go for it if you can afford it. Nice hotels, but cheaper nearby, are the Aladdin (Planet Hollywood), Monte Carlo, Flamingo. We stayed at the Flamingo last August for our anniversary and LOVED it! Great pool, good poolside refreshments and central to the things we would be doing as far as walking distance. We enjoyed Mystere at Treasure Island and highly recommend you see that Cirque show while you are there. Have fun!

If you can, go midweek - the rates are dramaticly different. Bellagio may be affordable for you for a monday thru Thursday stay.

This subject is covered daily on this board. Just do a Las Vegas search and a multitude of responses will show up. I know I answer several each week. We normally stay at the Mirage or T.I. and I go about 4 times a year. Mid-week is best price wise, but conventions determine rates so sometimes mid-week can be high also.

I have always loved staying at Caesar's Palace. If you keep an eye on them, you can catch a good rate. Perfect location and a great, great hotel... in my opinion.

I have stayed at a few hotels in vegas. The paris hotel is really nice, right on the strip, and not too too expensive, tastefully decorated, some great restaurants. Our room overlooked the fountains at bellagio.
Bellagio hotel is expensive, on the strip and in my opinion not worth the price you pay. I got married there and it was great but as I said the rooms are overrated. The venetian is a beautiful hotel, on the strip, the rooms not to disappoint at all, wonderful, however not cheap. Westin Causaria, not on the strip but not far, just east 5 min walk, not too expensive, rooms nice. Hope that helps. |
You should go see either the cirque show "0", and buy tickets ahead, make sure they are good tickets and well centered, wonderful show. The other cirque show to see is Le Reve, not as expensive as "0", absolutely spectacular, any seat will be great as it is set up like a colloseum?! We had ones in the front and got wet, it was great, they give you towels in the front to sheild yourself. Well worth every penny paid!
