Las Vegas Hotel Question
Myself and two friends (we're in our mid-twenties) are looking to visit Vegas at the beginning of September, Sunday-Sunday. Can anyone recommend a good hotel/any deals as we are looking to spend no more than $110 per night.

Vegas starts to get busy again in September as the summer heat begins to get a little more bearable, and thus the month that rates start to go up from the slow summer.

It's probably also a little early to be seeing a lot of deals for September, but will likely come in just a few weeks. Also, if the well publicized strike materializes, then i would definately begin to hunt for deals right away, as i suspect rates will come down if there is a strike.

If you don't know already, rates for Sun-Thur can be 1/3 the price of Fri+Sat, but your average price should hopefully be achievable.

My recommendation would be The Flamingo as it represents one of the best values on the strip... great rates with an even better location (and a great pool)! Also check out and compare rates to the Mirage, Monte Carlo, Paris, and Tropicana (Tropicana is most budget oriented of the list, but only stay in a Tower room, not a garden room). Barbary Coast is also great location but doesn't have a pool, Casino Royale and Imperial Palace are basic but acceptable and good location with emphasis on budget oriented travelers.

Lastly, if rates for Fri+Sat are way beyond your budget, i would look into staying downtown on for the last 2 nites of your trip (Golden Nugget?). Rates are MUCH cheaper downtown, and after 5 full days on the strip you may want a change of scenary. (note however, that many hotels downtown don't have pools, so if that's important to you, make sure the one you choose has a pool).

One more thing, you'll probably find good rates at the following hotels, but i wouldn't recommend them for a first trip to Vegas: Stratosphere, Circus Circus, and Riviera, as the location isn't that great.

Elle:
I recently booked a trip through National Airline vacations. I was pleased with the results. Air, hotel and car were included. They will work with you to get just the stuff you need.

Got back yesterday. Fun. Apparently the Hard Rock Hotel is really cool with a great pool. And from what I could tell the Flamingo Pool was packed with young people.

I would stay at the Flamingo, Tropicana or the Hard Rock . Try an air/land pkg for probably best deals. Deffinately don't forfet a pool.

Ooh, what is this about a strike?

Elle,
My friends and I are going about the same time. Each of us have been there a couple times. Yeah the prices are going to be higher on the weekend, but the prices will be way lower then 110/night during the week, so it will all balance out in the end. We like going to Mandalay Bay(great pool w/beach, wave pool, and lazy river and TONS of 20 somethings). You can usually get a rate of like 80 dollars of so during the week and like 150 or so on weekend, so it will almost even out to 110/night, or probably cheaper. Hard Rock hotel is great, but it is far off the strip. You'll want to be on the strip. Let me know if you have any questions.

Thanks Dan, where did you book yours through?

book a preferred hotel (with no cancellation fee) now and check rates two or three weeks before your travel date. Attractive deals are likely to be posted.

My suggestion is to go to the different hotels web sites and register to get emails of there promotions. You'll definitly be able to find something within your price range.
