Ask at the TI if you can use the next-door Mirage pool (believe they are still owned by the same co)- which is very nice.

And as for getting wet - you might get splashed in the lower rows at Reve - and maybe at O (but not soaked) - and while I normally like sitting down close - if you are up higher - for the Cirque shows that is fine as much of the action happens up there.

BTW - for the end of May - I would keep checking/googling back - as they may have good deals at other places then - but so much depends on what convention is in town during the particular week you are there.

Also if you get a killer deal - make sure they are not charging you another $20 a day for the latest con job - "Resort Fee" - whether you use the facilities or not.

Had dinner at Biscayne(excellent btw) at the Trop last week, and noticed their pool refurb is still underway. It looks like it will be excellent when completed, but wouldnt want to expect a pool and have some snafu in the refurb delay its opening

Tomsd, they ALL charge they resort fee it is made clear when you book. Here is the deal say for example it is $250 w/o included resort fee, and if one is not charging a resort fee that fee for that hotel is say $350. either way you are paying it whether they say they charge it or not. You either pay it when you check in or pay it before. Very annoying. The TRop has a $15.00 resort fee. TI is an additional $25.00 a day!! We are there over memorial day. May27- 2 June. That would be great if I could use the pool at the Mirage.

They all now charge resort fees? Even if you book online? Geesh. Have you tried calling and bargaining a little? Sometimes that works.

As for things to do during the day - Vegas is your Oyster, Baby. :)

For free stuff - check out the hourly Neptune show at the Caesar's Shops, the Arboretum and nearby cascading Chocolate display at the Patisserie at Bellagio, the singing Gondoliers at the Venetian, the Acquarium behind the check in desk at the Mirage (sadly - they don't have the White Tigers on display there anymore - nor I heard do they have the Lions on display any more at the MGM), of course - the Pirates Show at the TI, going up to the top of the Eiffel Tower at Paris (there is a charge for that), getting out to Red Rock Canyon if you have a car (20 minute drive), taking the Chocolate tour at the Ethyl M/Mars factory down toward Henderson, the free/bargain comedy/magic shows in the afternoon - including the long running one across the street at Harrah's - Mack King?(check outside the hotels for people handing out free coupons, etc, riding the roller coaster at NY NY (a fee for that), going up to the top of the Stratosphere for the great view (a fee but think you can work around it) - the entertainers hanging from/circling around the Rio ceiling at 6 PM, the evening laser show at the Fremont Experience downtown, and the list goes on and on.................... :)

CET properties do not charge resort fees, making them a popular choice.
HOWEVER, if you want internet service, gym use, and aren't a high roller, you will be paying much more than the $20 resort charge at the other properties. Just something for travelers to keep in mind.

Caesar's, Planet Hollywood, Cosmopolitan, Paris, Flamingo, and Bally's are among those that do not charge mandatory daily fees.

When I went into book it stated specifically the cost and it was $25.00 per day. If you read what I wrote you are paying for them at all the resorts cause the cost is figured into the package. I saw this when I booked. Trust me you are paying it one way or the other.

As I suggested - call them and try to negotiate. Sometimes they will do things on the phone that the Internet has not been programmed to do.

I am feeling fortunate. I always "go back" and look into current prices. For the same exact package deal I booked, for $534. pp including air, today is $700.00. I am feeling happy I booked when I booked it had I waited, I would be paying more. I will call TI today. I will let you know what they said about Resort Fees.

I am surprised you see bad reviews for Flamingo and Luxor. I've seen good reviews for both; better than Riviera, Imperial Palace, Trop, Excalibur, Hilton, Circus Circus, and Downtown hotels.

What about Bally's, Harrah's, MGM, NYNY?

You dont mention how many nights. I got 5 nights, $500 no fees from NYC from Expedia. AA also has good rates.
