Las Vegas - dining help please!
 

Four ladies, late 30's, in Vegas soon for 4 nights - Zumanity one night, Jubilee the next. I need dinner suggestions based on location and unique theme/decor. One vegetarian in the group and we don't want to spend $100 ea. for food. I was thinking Nine Fine Irishmen, Olives, BLT Burger, RM Seafood, etc. for some choices. They want to do a buffet for lunch. We'll be @ Mandalay Bay. I love sushi!

If you have a car I recommend Lotus of Siam - great Thai on Sahara about 3/4mi East of the strip. You could get there by taxi as well.

These are places we have gone in past.

Venetian Zeffirino Ristorante-For late lunch. Too costly for us at night, so we went for lunch and sat upstairs over the inside Canal.

The Mexican Restaurant that sits beside the Canal. Gondalier serenades as the boat passes by.

Olives at Bellegio--We made our reservation for a late lunch so it was pretty empty. We sat outside and watched the fountains.

Bellegio Cafe for lunch. (dinner there was not good) The cook was good during the day. The scenery was nice. You can see the decorated garden from your table. The inside garden is themed and is spectacular.

Rainforest at MGM for a different inexpensive meal. A lot of fun.

The Venetian has lots of places.

My wife and I both thought Zumanity was a total waste of time and money. It was banal and sophomoric. About half the show is making fun of members of the audience.

Try Mon Ami Gabi at Paris for lunch or dinner. Excellent food. The best buffet in my opinion is the one at the Bellagio.

This sounds like a great trip--hope you'll post a report because we're going in the fall. Olives is always dependable for great food and plenty of choices to satisfy even the pickiest eaters. I agree the Bellagio buffet is wonderful. Heck, the Bellagio is wonderful. Enjoy!

I've had lunch at Nine Fine Irishmen and it was excellent. Sat outside and enjoyed iy very much.

We enjoyed lunch at the top of the Statosphere; an amazing view of Vegas!

Oops, forgot to mention we have no car. Really looking for places on the strip. Thanks so far for some great recommendations!

For an excellent burger, try the burger bar in the mall area between Luxor and Mandalay Bay. You choose your meat, kobe beef, Angus beef etc, and then your toppings, everything from foi gras to lobster to more standard fare like bacon.

If you want a really great steak and an equally great view of the entire Las Vegas valley, try Binions Ranch Steak house downtown. Take the Duece from anywhere on the strip. I suggest making a reservation at this place and be sure to request a table with a view. The soups and salads are also excellent so your vegetarian friend should find plenty to eat here. When you are finished stick around for the Freemont Street Experience. Just look up.

As a vegetarian recently in Las Vegas, plan to read a lot of menus before going into the restuarant. It's amazing how many places have almost nothing vegetarian for entrees.
The Bellagio buffet and Italian restaurants worked out well. I can't recall names, but there were nice Italian restaurants at NYNY and the Venetian that we were happy with. Good Luck.

Traveling with a vegetarian once, we got to laughing as nearly every restaurant we went to had some variation of "vegetarian lasagna", but that was pretty much it.

The best buffet we've gone to is the one at Wynn. Choices for everyone, including vegetarians at a price well under your budget. We also like the Grand Lux Cafe at the Venetian. Great food and drinks.

Il Forniao in NYNY is great, and for the price it's even better.

WFT - this place is great. We go to it each time we're in Vegas. Good food, good service, and very reasonable pricing - no where near the $100 per person range.
