Las Vegas-Best Dinner Buffets
I'm going to be staying at the Excalaber in Las Vegas the beginning of Novermber, '01. I'm looking for info on the best dinner buffets available or other restaurants offering great food at a low price.
|
The best dinner buffet is at Bellagio. It's right around $25.
Rio has a reputation as having a great buffet (was the best in town 5 years ago). I think it's fallen a long way since then, but some people still love it.
Don't eat at Excalibur.
Barry,

I was in Las Vegas at the end of August and the queues at the Bellagio were long at around 7-8pm. It would be worth while either going late or early. If you go before 9 either 3:30 or 4pm then you can get in for the Lunch price ($16)and stay for the start of dinner.

Other good ones

Mandalay Bay ( $18)
Mirage ($18)
Harrah's was surprisingly good for $14 .
Paris is supposed to be very good ($21)- I did not have dinner there but had breakfast ( $12) which was very good)
|
Since you mentioned cost being a factor, a "trick" (that's widely known) is to show up for lunch about 15-30 minutes before lunch starts. The lines are shorter and you pay breakfast prices, but in less than 1/2 hour you're eating lunch food from the buffet (and it's fresh).

The same can be done for dinner, but with greater savings.

RIO, RIO, RIO.....
They have the largest and best buffet in town!!! No complaints here.
Lots of variety. You'll love it... About $22.00 a person. I'll go to Vegas just to visit there buffet. Also, Rio is located not to far off the strip. You can take the cab or shuttle bus to the hotel.
Have fun!!
|
Barry: Please, please do not go to the Rio buffet!!! It is way overpriced for the quality of food. If you are going to pay that much than go to either Mandalay Bay, Bellagio or Paris. You won't be disappointed!
|
Although Rio USED to have the best buffet, reports over the last few years implies that the quality has gone WAY downhill.

Recent reports is that the breakfast buffet at The Orleans is excellent.
|
Go about 1 mile farther to the New Orleans. It's a much better buffet than the Rio and half the price. The place is crowded with locals.
I also second the Mirage suggestion. And, if you go to Paris go for late lunch price and stay for dinner. It's also a good buffet.
|
Isn't best dinner buffet an oxymoron?
|
things change fast in vegas.
Rio has slipped way down
Bellagio is the best now.
Go to the Rio for a drink in the lounge on the top floor. Best view of the strip.

I though the RIO was good, nothing great though. It was kind of a circus like atmosphere. The seating area reminded me of a big Mcdonalds. I loved the Paris. I went at the tail end of breakfast, so I got to have lunch too. I think it was about $12. They have the best desserts I've ever had. They had this chocolate "mousse type" of dessert that was soooo good. They were selling the same thing in one of the shops for $5 !! So if you have one of these you'll definatley get your money's worth. I thought Bellagio's was very good too. I went to the Flamingo for breakfast once. If you get a seat near the window, it overlooks a nice pond with a waterfall, fish and ducks. Pretty good food, fair price and great scenery. Enjoy !!!
