Las Vegas-Bellagio or Four Seasons?
 

Bellagio or Four Seasons? We just want to stay somewhere nice for my husband's birthday.

When are you going? We recently stayed at Bellagio, which is a lovely resort, and the pools are wonderful if you hang by pools. We ate at 4S one night and found it and its pool to be an oasis away from the whole vegas scene. Don't know if Wynn is on your minds? Not a huge fan of Vegas, I would be happiest at either location, although the oasis factor felt like a wave of relief. Good luck!

Bellagio is much more centrally located, if that is important to you.

I'd personally prefer the Four Seasons. The Bellagio is such a zoo that you can barely get through the lobby or casino on the weekends. Since the Mandalay Bay is away from the center of the Strip they don't get as much foot traffic, and the 4S has a separate entrance and its own pool.

The Four Seasons will keep you separate from the gambling whereas gambling will constantly be in front of you at the Bellagio. You have to walk through the casino to get anywhere at the Bellagio. I preferred our room at the Four Seasons over the one we had at the Bellagio. But the Bellagio does have some wonderful restaurants. I think you would be happy at either one. Whether you prefer one over the other depends on what type of atmosphere you like.

The Four Seasons is my favorite Vegas hotel. My second favorite is Bellagio. Though I'd really like to try Wynn.. The Four Seasons is quiet, upscale, secluded, with its own private and pretty entrance way. It has a really lovely pool, not crowded, like gyppielou said--it is an oasis away from the Vegas scene. The rooms are large and classy, if unexciting, and the common areas are immaculate, very pretty, and uncrowded. You can have breakfast outside at a lovely outdoor restaurant near the pool, and The Four Seasons also has an indoor restaurant, The Veranda (never ate there), as well as Charlie Palmer Steak which is very nice. The service is attentive at the FS and first rate. And--if you crave the chaos, casino life, people watching or variety of the large hotels--just go through a little door and you are worlds away--right inside Mandalay Bay. Just my personal opinion, but I LOVE this hotel.

Don't know if it's too late for your planning, but I second the FS recommendation. We have stayed at all the nice places in Vegas and tried the FS over Valentine's Day. It was our first stay at a Four Seasons and now we're spoiled forever. The poster who mentioned it being an oasis is so right. That's what we loved about it. You didn't feel like you were in Vegas but you had all the Vegas just an elevator ride away at Mandalay Bay. We had the sunday brunch and it was fabulous. ate on the patio. Also ate at the house of blues foundation room. The concierge got us reservations at the last minute (they were at 5:30, but who cares) and it was wonderful. The gym was unbelieveable. The attendant brought us water in a cup with a straw when he saw us sweating to death! Unlike in many cities, the FS here is not that over the top expensive and you get a lot of extras.
