Las Vegas/Alexis Park Resort?

Has anyone stayed at the Alexis Park? We are flying into Vegas with our two children (4 and 9) on our way to Zion and Bryce. Like the non-gaming idea of the place and the price is right (69.00) We like clean hotels don't have to be super fancy. We thought we'd Swim and look at the Strip before leaving for our road trip.

What's Alexis Park like? Do you have other suggestions for low-key places in Vegas?

Alexis Park looks run down and very hit-or-miss to me. I've only walked past, never been inside.
I've talked with people who were unhappy there within the past couple years, though, due to problems with rooms and service which wasn't helpful.
You know the Courtyards and Residence Inns by Marriott are a nice alternative to casinos. I've stayed at the Res Inns in LV several times. Rates may not get as low as $69 though, you'd have to check on that. But if you want cheap rates, even some of the decent mid to above mid range casinos have summer rates in that range.
