Las Vegas

Hi,

I & my husband are planning a trip to Las Vegas in 2nd week of december. We want to know which are the best shows and are they available on weekdays as well. Are there any special shows on weekends? Are the cost for the shows different on weekdays and weekends?

Can you be a little more specific? What type of shows are you interested in? Vegas has everything from concerts, broadway musicals, all of the Cirque shows, magic, comedy, etc. There are shows during the week but there are usually a couple of dark nights. It all varies, depending on the show. I don't believe that most of the top selling shows have different prices for weekdays versus weekends but tickets may be a bit more available during the week.

Cirque shows are usually a safe bet. Which one is best is a matter of personal opinion. Depending on how long you will be there you can see more than one show.

Bellagio and Venetian are both very nice, but I guess I'd go for Bellgaio. Again, you will get opinions for both because they are both luxury properties. Just pick one and you'll be fine either way.

Our favorite Cirque du Soleil show so far is Mystere. We also enjoyed Le Reve. Jersey Boys is outstanding, but Phantom of the Opera was also most enjoyable. If you're a fan of Terry Fator, he's not to be missed.

Check the TripAdvisor forum for terrific resources for tickets. A good place to start is Gold Star Events. There are significant discounts available for most shows. Also, take a look at TravelZoo.

As for hotels, shop for discount codes for those as well. And, consider Priceline or Hotwire after checking BetterBidding and BiddingforTravel.

If you have a chance to stay at Wynn - awesome! We also loved Paris. Bellagio is fine, but it's a hike up a hill back to the hotel. Venetian is nice, too, but it's heavily "fragranced" (very annoying to some).

Do spend some time on the TA forum - there's a ton of valuable advice there.

For Cirque shows, don't worry about seating because essentially all seats are good. These shows are "big" and you don't need to be up close.

Travelzoo website has a number of specials on Las Vegas shows including $60 tickets to see Ka, an excellent Cirque show. You will also find several shows previously mentioned in this thread are discounted as well.

Bellagio is wonderful! It is not as overwhelming as Venetian can be and the rooms are gorgeous. Request a room that overlooks the fountains! You can tune your TV to a channel that will allow you to hear the music playing when the fountain show is active.

Both casinos have wonderful things to see - Bellagio the atrium andgadens, Venetian the Gondola ride.

At Bellagio - the restaurat Olives is wonderful!

We loved Le Reve at the Wynn!
