Las Vegas
 

We have 3 nights in Las Vegas in June. Best places for Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner. Also have been told we must see "O" at the Bellagio. Is it worth $170.00 a ticket to sit up close and in the center or would it be just as good to pay $143.00 and sit in the middle of the lodge?

There are numerous "best places" for meals in Vegas - partly depends on your budget. You can go cheap to over the top. Everything's available. The buffet at the Bellagio is a good stop for at least one or more meals.

For tickets, there are outlets where you can get O and other tickets for almost half price.

Sit in the middle, although no seat is bad because the theatre is built FOR the show.

I second the buffet at the Bellagio. I believe it is the best in Vegas--for any meal.

Other good choices include:
Canters at Treasure Island--Jewish Deli, excellent soup and sandwiches and much cheaper than the deli at the Mirage.

Mon Ami Gabi at Paris--French bistro, everything my wife and I have had is good, i.e. steak, fish, frites, pate, wine. Not cheap but worth the price.

Binions Ranch Steakhouse--at Binions downtown. The lobster bisque and the steaks are excellent. The restaurant is 24 floors up. From a window table at night, the view of the Las Vegas valley is spectacular. This place is also not cheap. After dining, stick around for the Fremont Street Experience just outside the casino.

BLT Burger at Mirage--excellent hamburgers with all the normal and some exotic toppings.

We just saw "O" last month - and it was completely amazing, well worth the ticket price. My children (15 and 11) both enjoyed it, and couldn't stop talking about it for days.

Would recommend eating at Texas de Brazil - it is a short taxi ride up the strip, but well worth it. It is a Brazilian steak house, where they bring all types of meat right to your table and cut off pieces for you. There is also a salad/side dish bar that was the best I have ever seen, very upscale. It is a little pricy but well worth the experience. They do not rush you out at all, and you can eat as much as you want, so go with a big appetite!

should have added that I paid the $170 price, were in the third row, and it was great to be that close.

Just came upon another Las Vegas site... http://www.cityofexcess.com that looks promising once there are reviews. There is information about each of the hotels on the strip.

If you get a chance, honestly, Danny Gans is the best show I've seen in 25 years of Vegas visits!

My husband and I are heading to Vegas next week for our first trip there. I've been asking those I know who have been there the same questions... So far, for breakfast I've gotten recommendations for the Omelete House and Hash House A Go-Go. Bigger mix for lunch/dinner, mostly because of the variety of pricing. In general, people have recommended the seafood buffet at the Rio, Bobby Flay's restaurant "Mesa", and Mon Ami Gabi at Paris.
We have already have reservations for Craftsteak at MGM Grand and will be seeing "O".
