How is Excalibur Hotel Las vegas

If you are a big fan of the Arthurian legends it will probably be neat for you.
I have not stayed there (nor do I have any interest in staying there), so I can't say what they rooms are like. It was nice to walk through it the first time and see how they designed and decorated the place. These days, I only walk through it on my way to and from Luxor and Mandalay. I just find it a little too cheesy. I could take the monorail and bypass it altogether, but I do like checking out some of the shops along the way.

Was there a particular aspect of Excalibur that you were interested in?

I think clarkgriswold is being generous from everything I've heard. I have friends who have stayed just about everywhere in Vegas, and Excaliber is the one place they checked out of after the first night.

I currently have a reservation in April at the Venetian Hotel at $259 a night. Today I received an e-mail internet special for a deluxe room at the Mirage for $99 night. This is our first time visiting Las Vegas, so if you have stayed at these hotels and can help me make a decision, I'd appreciate it.

The Mirage has very nice rooms. Not as nice as Venetian. But for the good $170 a night savings, I'd take the Mirage any time.

Sorry for the bad math. Make that approx. $185 a night difference!

Excalibur caters to families/kids. There is a level that has carnival type games and gameroom area. There are kids all over the place. They rival Circus Circus. If that's what your looking for.

We did enjoy the Tournment of Kings dinner and show, but would never stay there.

The Excalibur is dark and dingy. I would never consider staying here with so many other options. I don't know what time of year you are traveling, but sign up on as many hotel websites as you can. Many hotels are offering good deals. I receive numerous offers throughout the year.

Excalibur is more kid oriented, thus not a place I would choose. For the poster asking about Mirage vs Venetian, I'd take the Mirage and save the $$$. We normally stay at Mirage, altho we have stayed at most of the Strip hotels at one time or another, and like it the best. If you can get a good rate at Mirage I'd take it. Bathrooms are a little small in standard rooms, however there is a nice vanity area outside the bathroom that works well.

I am with everybody else on the Excalibur although I do like their poker room.

My wife stayed there on a girls trip and it was serviceable but she would not do it again.

Definately the Mirage is a great choice over the much more expensive Venetian.

The Excalibur gives me the creeps. All that jousting and medevial. YUCK

We stayed there once because we got such a great price and the room wasn't bad at all. But, like the others, I have no desire to stay again. Personally I'd rather stay further into the heart of the strip, anyway.
