Las Vegas

We ar flying into Las Vegas at night and then driving to the north rim of the Grand canyon. where is a good city to spend the night to break up the trip?

is Las Vegas the best city to fly into for the north Rim?

Thanks

Melissa

Las Vegas would be the best major airport to fly into if you wish to visit the N. Rim. St George, UT would be a good place to spend the night. It has a fairly wide range of accomodation and would break up the drive nicely. I hope you are planning this trip for next summer, as the north rim is closed in winter. When passing through Hildale, UT/Colorado City, AZ wave to the polygamists. Enjoy your trip.

I hope you don't plan your trip until Mid-May because the North Rim of the Grand Canyon is closed until then!

Your most scenic overnight stopping point will be Springdale, Utah which is 160 miles from Las Vegas. Springdale is at the entrance of Zion National Park. Please make sure you have some time to spend in Zion the next morning before you leave for the N. Rim.

Then your best two bets would be St. George or Kanab, Utah. You will probably have more choices in St. George.

Melissa,

Sorry, but we always camp so I couldn't recommend a place. I just know there are places in Kanab and you probably won't find much else until you get to Jacob Lake.
