And yes, of course BE CAREFUL. Don't drink too much, watch out for drugs and jerks on the prowl. Life is too short to have to regret anything that you do.

One last thing to note: Although more venues in Vegas are non-smoking than before, you will encounter a LOT of cigarette (and cheap cigar) smoke in a lot of bars and casinos and clubs. Plan on doing a bit of dry cleaning when you get back home to remove the smoke smell from your clothes.
It bothers me much more since I used to smoke. A LOT. Now that I think of it, the last place I bought a pack of cigarettes was in Vegas in 2010. Just before they found out I had a mild heart condition (yes, I quit cold turkey on the spot). Ever since, I've found the smoke in some Vegas casinos rather annoying. But not enough to stop going. I happen to like the glitz and slight tackiness of Vegas-- for a few days. |
I would like to take credit for the direction this topic has moved towards. Ok, advice to the men, no work, no degrading yourself, just some nice clothes, and a lot of money

rjw_lgb_ca, It's interesting that everyone takes away something different. I have been there solo to soak up some sun, to meet a Fodor's travel group, to have a reunion with college pals, and with my husband, for shows and for an easy start to Utah parks.
I have a friend who doesn't drink or gamble, but loves to write buffet reviews on Yelp, and another friend who does play slots, but doesn't drink. Have fun, antonelaxhaferri! |
I love you Newbe and Frank. TA is much better at advice and less snark. Frank, you do shows? Interesting. Vegas is like an oven but you have to go once so 21st birthday is good.
|
I am sorry you were called a troll op. Ignore. I love going into Paris and the Venetian hotels. Free but fun to look at. The fountains are great entertainment and the slots are fun for about ten minutes. I set a limit and walk away.

Worked 3-5 days a year for most of the last 35 years during our industry 3 day trade show. 5 when I had to set up and close down, 3 when it was just entertain the customer. I think I learned more about Vegas during the 5s working than the 3s partying |
I just booked Vegas for 4 nights for 2 adults for $1069 from Travelocity.
Plus I got the VCard Pass for $75 for a show, dinner, observatory. I dont do clubs, night life, nor pools. And we have a Madam twosaw in NYC, so dont need to stare at wax figures of celebs as I see them all over. So, if you want clubbing, dancing, ok, try it, but I'd prefer LA, NYC, Miami for that rather than Vegas. |
Hi, I'm gonna be in Vegas for my 21st bday.
I'm gonna stay there 4 days from July 9 to July 12. > I have a really low budget. I' gonna travel solo. There have been some good suggestions for you. Have you contacted a promoter for club passes? It will be extremely hot, as well. Don't forget sunscreen and stay hydrated. |
She hasn't been back since June 9 . . . my guess she's made all her plans by now.
|
Perhaps, but half the fun here is the speculation. :B
|
If the OP is from NYC I don't think they will be amazed at the night life in Las Vegas - or the neon lights - or the beautiful people - or clubs open until 4 am. All of this is the norm in NYC as well.
Granted they have a lot of silly things that are much more like Disney for adults - but not sure how many of these the OP will be able to take advantage of. I hope the OP has a good time - but it's not really the place to go when you are broke. |
OK nyt, enough dissing Vegas. It's a fun place to party. And yes(gasp) it can amaze someone from nyc
|
Lol, it doesn't matter who thinks LV is a good place for the OP to party. It sounds as though her trip has been planned, from the first part of her post.
Hi, I'm gonna be in Vegas for my 21st bday. I'm gonna stay there 4 days from July 9 to July 12. I have a really low budget. I' gonna travel solo. Hopefully she gleaned a few helpful ideas here, or on the LV TA forum, as also suggested. |
Well, I just got back from three nights on the Strip, and I can report that drinking on the Strip is even MORE expensive than before, if you stick with the resort bars and lounges and/or don't take advantage of Happy Hour deals. Having said that, we still had a GREAT time.
The OP will still find her best deals off-Strip. And some lounges have Industry Night specials on Mondays and other themed nights during the week that get crowded with locals and still have the DJs and wild times of weekend parties; you just have to look for them. Bond Lounge at the Cosmopolitan had a hot shindig going on Tuesday night that looked incredible. I do imagine the drink prices would have been shocking, but.... |
Ho guys,
Thanks a lot again for your suggestions, I really appreciate it.. I'm sorry if I've been absent but I don't get notifications so I checked it a few times but not lately. Yea I'm pretty much organized, I booked a tour for the Grand Canyon, a few friends suggested me some promoters..and I'm gonna do a lot of sightseeing. Did anyone do the sky jump from the stratosphere hotel? I wanted to do that on my bday, should be a great experience Thanks everyone again xx |
aww. Happy 21st again, in advance! ((^))((h))
|
Have a Happy Birthday!
|
Would love to see a little trip report when you return. Happiesr of birthdays and congrats on turning 21!

<<Just watch a few episodes of "Gigolos" on showtime. Give you all the information you need.>>
lol gmoney. I stumbled across this show last month and have watched a few episodes. It's fascinating. I would have never guessed that there was such a market for straight male escorts. There are some naughty women out there. |
