LAS VEGAS

We are planning on visiting LV in September and are looking for recommendations on a central strip hotel. Also any information on restaurants/bars that should not be missed and any info on designer outlets would be very much appreciated.

Thanks

I would recommend staying at the Bellagio, Venetian or Mandalay bay. They are the higher priced hotels but are worth it to me anyway. Depends on what you like.

If the budget allows, my favorite place is Bellagio. Can't beat the service, the restaurants or the pool area. It's a great base to see the different casinos. Have fun.

Center Strip hotels are Bellagio, Caesars, Paris, Bally's, Flamingo Hilton, Harrah's, Aladdin, Imperial Palace plus a couple of small ones like Casino Royale or Barbary Coast. Mandalay Bay is at the far end of the strip. If you want to spend the money try Bellagio. If you want a nice new room, very reasonable rates and a great location I recommend Paris. There are lots of shopping areas such as the Forum Shops in Caesars, Paris, Aladdin, the Venetian plus a mall near Treasure Island. Don't worry, there are a zillion ways to get rid of your money in Vegas! Have fun.

I just returned from a stay at Flamingo (it is no longer a Hilton, by the way). What a dump! The hotel is in SERIOUS need of an upgrade and I would strongly recommend people stay away until the hotel gets refurbished. You will most certainly regret staying there!

AI my @ss, I know it is you Sis. You have posted the exact same post at least four times. What happened at the Flamigo? I "bet" you lost a bunch of $$$ and now trying to get back at them. Just wondering what is up with you and the Flamingo.

Give more details about the Flamingo! I'm leaving for Vegas tonight and I'm booked there - just want to know what to expect. (I thought it would be fine)

What happened sister! Was there no keilbasa in the room when you arrived? If so, I can understand your outrage you poor child.

What is wrong with you sister!! Nuns have no business to be in Las Vegas anyways. Unless it is to pray for all us sinners who frequent sin city.

I have stayed at the Flamingo many times in the past and i thought it was perfectly fine! Granted, I haven't stayed there in the last 3 years, but I can't imagine it fell apart that much in that time! Last year I stayed at Paris and it is my new favorite! I love the location and it is so easy to get from the street up to your room without having to traverse through the casino.

The general atmosphere is rundown. The elevators are incredibly beat up--filled with stains and graffiti. The two rooms I had (I had to change rooms because I was so grossed out by the first one) were an unprecedented assortment of stains, marks on the wall, dirty linen, soiled carpet, worn bedding and broken soda and ice machines. Frankly, I was shocked. I've stayed at the Flamingo for 20 years and this is the first time I've seen it in this condition. It was absolutely terrible, and I want to warn people that there's a reason you're paying $45 a night for a hotel that, until recently, commanded $80-$100 a night. I guess management is just moving as many bodies through as possible before the inevitable renovation. I'd STRONGLY encourage you to stay away for now.
