Laredo, Texas(relocation advice wanted)

I am thinking of re-locating from Iowa to Laredo. Any advice? I hear the humidity level is way down. True? How's the job market (for secreterial)? What about really nice unfurnished apartments? What would a 2 bed rm go for? ANY info you have to offer is welcome! Thanks much! Terry

Car theft is a major problem.

Sorry, Terry, don't know much about Laredo...

Do you speak Spanish? I was there on business a year ago and met many people who couldn't speak English (or wouldn't admit they did). As a non-Hispanic, I felt very much the minority. I hate to be an alarmist, but I was frequently warned about safety and simply did not feel safe there.

Terry,<BR>If your transferring to take a secretarial job in Laredo, I suggest maybe look somewhere else. As an San Antonian, I travel to Laredo, Mx often w/ friends. I don't think you would want to live there. It's a border town, and there is alot of poverty there. Unless you have a special calling to move there, don't do it w/o visiting. Look in SA for secreterial job. Location is much better. You won't feel like you live in Mexico.
