Lancaster PA for Thanksgiving
We are planning to spend Thanksgiving in Lancaster, Pennsylvania. We need ideas for a place to get dinner. Thanks!

Can you give us a little more information? What kind of place are you looking for? A typical turkey dinner? A buffet? PA Dutch style food? Fine dining? Something in the city or in the eastern part of the county (Amish Country)?

We're looking for something in Amish Country. Nothing fancy. Typical turkey dinner or a buffet would be fine.

My family of 19 had gone to the Amish area for Thanksgiving several years ago and had a wonderful time!
We had our Thanksgiving meal at Miller's smorgasbord which is certainly not fancy - but very nice. Since it is a smorgasbord, they have far more options than turkey - which is great - especially when you have 19 people to please (some of them vegetarian, etc.)! Price was not that bad either, although I forget the rate. We stayed at the AmishView Inn - which is SPECTACULAR (see my review & many others on tripadvisor.com). Lovely, CLEAN, relatively new hotel - many rooms/suites with fireplaces and or whirlpool baths, some with full kitchens (with granite countertops, etc!) - indoor pool, fitness room and magnificent views of farmland - oh and FREE breakfast buffet - which was a nice touch! Both - dining at Miller's for Thanksgiving & staying at the AmishView made for a wonderful Thanksgiving getaway! |
The nicest place for Thanksgiving dinner in Lancaster is the Log Cabin.

YES! The Log Cabin!!!!!!
We did have Thanksgiving several years ago at Miller's - but just this past September, my husband & I took a little getaway to Lancaster (also seeing Fallingwater) and stayed at the AmishView... we went to Miller's - but for a VERY SPECIAL ROMANTIC night - we went to the LOG CABIN!!! It is WONDERFUL!!!!! EXCELLENT SERVICE, GREAT FOOD, SPECTACULAR AMBIANCE, LOVELY DRIVE (through a covered bridge too)... GREAT IDEA, Cheapbutnice2!!!!!!!! |
