Is a lakeview room worth the extra money at Bellagio?

Depends how much extra. The lake (actually it's a big fountain) has the elaborate water show every 15-30 minutes. But after you've seen it a few times, it's nothing special. Paris is across the street too, which is nicer to look at than the empty space behind the Bellagio. It's your call if you think the extra money is worth it to look at the fountain, strip and Paris.

Want a lakeview of Bellagio, stay at Paris! It's cheaper too. And you can see the water show every 20 min.

Belinda's advice of staying at Paris is TERRIBLE. Don't stay there. It pales in comparison to the Bellagio.

I have mixed feelings about view rooms. Generally speaking, if there is a terrace or balcony where you can sit out and enjoy the view then I think they are really worth it -- at least if you plan to do that. But if it just means that you stand or sit at a window and look down or out, then the view really doesn't mean much to me. We didn't opt for a view room at Bellagio, and didn't regret it. On the other hand, a couple of nights we sat out on their terrace bar and had drinks while watching the fountains and that was great.

Our room wa on the 27th floor looking straight out at the Eiffel Tower and straight down at the lake,with the fountains going off every 15 minutes, and the music played on one of the tv stations in our room.It was $50.00 more a night for a lake view over a "pool view" which is also a highway/mountain view.To us, it was definitely worth it, it is an amazing sight!Not to mention the entire strip with all of those lights at night and the mountains in the distance.

gregg,the lake is a Lake-not a big fountain! guys have to take a motor boat on it to clean it and do any work on it.

Definitely worth the extra $. Normally not a big view person, but the Lake/Fountain at the Bellagio is something else. It takes you breath away, particularly in the evening with the Effiel Tower illuminated in the background. If you can swing it, it's not to be missed.

I have to agree with the last few posters.<BR>The view rooms at Bellagio do make for a nicer stay.<BR>I've stayed in lakeview rooms there 4 or 5 times and in mountain view (interstate view) rooms 3 or 4 times.<BR>While I don't spend a lot of time looking out the window, it really does make the whole room experience more pleasant.<BR>But I'm sure lots of people feel the opposite.<BR>It's a personal taste thing, to be sure.
