Lake Tahoe vs. Park City
My husband and I have the opportunity to celebrate our one year anniversary in eithe Lake Tahoe or Park City UT. We have five days to use, including travel time (We are coming from NYC). We want to relax, hike, sightsee, see beautiful nature, eat, and stroll through quaint towns. We will ski for a day if the weather permits, although neither of us are huge skiers. We are planning on going the second weekend of November, so we are unclear what the weather would be like at that time. Which place is better to spend four days in November? Thanks in advance for your help!

I have been to Tahoe a few times now but never SLC so I cannot comment on SLC. Tahoe however, would give you much in the way of hiking, relaxation etc. I love Tahoe! The north end of the lake is very quiet, more rural, more upscale. THe south end of the lake is much more commercialized with many casinos and a nightlife. Minimal night life in north tahoe. As for skiing in November, most of the resorts in Tahoe will open mid November I believe. THere are a few towns in north tahoe that have shops and stuff. A drive around the lake is a wonderful day adventure. They also have a bike path along the lake in the north that is great fun. THen of course there are many hiking trails to keep you busy.
Lake Tahoe is beautiful. The color of the water is amazing. You could also take a tour boat ride on the lake. My recommendation for lodging hands down would be the Hyatt in Incline Village. Incline Village is a very upscale, quiet town IMO. Good luck and enjoy you anniversary. |
