Lake Tahoe tour cruise
Information and opinions on boat tour options for Lake Tahoe, please.
We'll be there June 11 - 16. Thanks! gypsy |
Woodwind Cruises: http://www.sailwoodwind.com.
We went on the sunset tri-maran. A very nicely run company. |
We took a boat tour from Zephyr cove - it was a narrated tour with lunch. The food was more like "make your own sandwich" with salads and desserts. I think we drove up, got the tickets and got on the boat - no advance reservations.
It was nice, and I'd do it again. The tour was narrated, the boat has enclosed and opened spaces - for any weather. We also took a bus tour around the lake - it was an 18-seats van, this was sold out, needed reservations. They picked up at the hotel and brought us back, the tour lasted an hour longer than scheduled. |
where did you find the bus tour? Do you remember how much it was? Was it worthwhile as opposed to driving ourselves?
|
I Googled :) They have several tours, and pick up from certain hotels only - and I checked the website, only on Tuesdays. Some tours are seasonal.
http://www.demotours.com/ http://www.demotours.com/toursAROUNDLAKE.htm Don't remember how much it was, now it's $45. For us it was worthwhile as we don't drive. Came to South Tahoe from San Francisco on Amtrak train-bus combo. I remember the bus was an hour late coming back, and one couple on our bus got nervous being late to the evening boat tour - so plan accordingly. |
gypsy - where are you staying. Harrah's has a boat tour. Here is some information about it. http://www.laketahoestar.com/
