Lake Tahoe Recommendations for Winter
 

We are staying in South Lake Tahoe with our 5 kids ( 30, 26, 21, 19 and 16) the week before Christmas.
I'm looking for a few recommendations for meals out, when we get sick of our own cooking! We'll be a group of eight total. Any favorites?
Have any of you done the dog sledding or the sleigh ride? Hoping for personal recommendations! ( The kids will ski and snowboard too but we'd love to have at least one thing we can all do as a group.

We've really enjoyed the food and nice low-key ambiance at Primo's Italian Bistro. Also, the burgers and drinks at California Burger are very good.

Not actually true -- every year is different of course, but there have only been one or maybe two years in the last decade+ when there was insufficient snow for much XCountry skiing or dog sledding. Some years the snow falls early and some years it doesn't arrive in full until January+ but most years there is plenty of snow. The sleigh rides are not 'snow dependent'.

You do have to have about a 6 inch snowpack for either sleigh rides or dog sledding, so they are snow dependent, at least in Stateline. Some places also have carriage rides that are not, of course, but those aren't sleighs. So they do have rides without snow, but they are on wheels. Depends what your goal is.

Why don't you just take one of those cruises, that would work for the entire family.
