Lake Tahoe dinner cruise

I would like to get some input on taking a dinner cruise on Lake Tahoe. I understand there are several cruises to choose from. Does anyone have any suggestions as to which one is best?

I liked the Tahoe Queen out of South Lake Tahoe. The food was very good (buffet, of course). The boat is a real paddlewheeler, which is pretty interesting in and of itself. Make sure and take a jacket, even in summer, as the breeze off the lake can be very chilly.

Thanks for the info. What is the dress like on these boats? Also, do you know anything about the horseback riding stables in the area? Our husbands want to go horseback riding in the mountains. They are not beginners; they both have horses at home and ride all the time.

I have taken the Tahoe Queen and its a very nice time. I agree, bring a lite jacket. Casual weekend wear is how I would describe the dress, you know, nice but not really dressy.

As for horesback riding.. look here
http://www.tahoesbest.com/Places/horseback.htm Ive been to the Cascade Stables and it seems we went to the one at Northstar about 10 years ago... not sure about Camp Richardson right now since it is so close to where the fire was... The hour rides will, in my opinion, be no fun for your husbands but I think if you reserve a half day, they may have better luck, these are rental horses so enthusiasm usually is not part of their personalities...

I cant go to rental stables, I have bought 4 rental horses so far and rehabilitated them, they pull at my heart strings.

have fun, Shelley

We took the MS Dixie out of Zephyr Cove last week for a luncheon cruise. They don't cook the food there, but bring it aboard, and it's buffet style.
They are located about 4 miles from Stateline.

Also went horseback riding for two hours out of Zephyr Stables.
