Lake Tahoe, CA Accomodations-Help!
I'm considering a trip to Lake Tahoe to celebrate an upcoming birthday on Labor Day Weekend. Does anyone have any good recommendations on lodging?
The Tahoe Seasons Resort looks very nice, but isn't directly on the lake, which I would like. Prefer South Shore, but the Hyatt does look very nice. Any opinions on that place? Also, the BW Timber Cove Inn? It is directly on the lake, but doesn't look as nice as the Seasons Resort. Prefer an on-site spa, restaurant and of course a pool and jacuzzi. TIA!! ***kim*** |
I remember a restaurant at the Timber, and a pool, and a private beach, and another restaurant or a bar on the marina. It's a romantic hotel! I don't know if they have spas. I'd go back any time!

And they are offering a special, that your third night's stay is free. Not too bad!
It would be nice to have a lakefront room and be right on the lake, but also the idea of a REALLY nice resort is appealing also. ***kim*** |
The best lake views I have seen are from the suites at the Cal Neva Lodge on the Northshore. The Cal Neva probably has all the amenities that you require.

Yes, this place looks nice on the website. I had decided on the Hyatt but they are totally booked for the weekend I want.
I think the Hyatt would be the perfect place. Lakefront, spa, restaurant, turndown service, valet, all the wonderful amenities I look for in a place. I like their Hyatt Regency Club, where you have access to some of the private things that go on, ie, wine and cheese reception, access to national newspapers, tea, mineral water, etc. This sounds like a very nice place if you can get in! Even lakeside massages which sound really nice! ***kim*** |
I saw responses from several of you to this query, but would like to ask a similar question modified as follows:
We'd like get some rather high end accomodations in Lake Tahoe in mid Sept. 04, and the Hyatt is booked. Doesn't have to be a big hotel, and definitely not a casino hotel. Just quite nice with nice extras. Is the next best thing the Marriot? or is there some wonderful jewel of a lodge or hotel that I am missing? My husband says he prefers the North Shore, but I am open to best suggestion anyone can give. Thanks |
