Lake Tahoe & baby
Hi -
My family is vacationing in Lake Tahoe over the Christmas holiday & my sister is coming from London with her 2 month old baby. Does anyone know anywhere we can rent a crib for the baby? I am flying into Sacramento and driving to Tahoe with my husband before everyone arrives - so we could pick something up in Reno if necessary. Any help you all could provide would be great! Thanks in advance, Emily Wittmann |
Try this. There is an 800 number on the website. I tried calling but got an answering machine. I'm not sure how they work or where exactly they are.

Will you be driving? Who will be picking up the crib from the rental co? How much do you expect to pay?
Here's a traveling crib that weighs less than 20 lbs and costs about $60. http://www.walmart.com/catalog/produ...uct_id=2485014 If you can receive it and transport it for your sister that would work. If you are going to south shore try this they deliver and pick up: http://www.laketahoelodging.com/kids...abys_Away.html |
With a small infant, I would opt for a portable travel crib. Some of them are too small for larger, more mobile babies, but for an infant of that size it should be no problem. You can get them at any baby store and they fold up quite small. We always used these when we travelled. Depending on where you are staying, one may be available. If you are renting a house from an agency, I'll bet that they could take care of having a crib available there for you if you prefer a full size one.

As ellenbw says - if you are staying in a cabin or condo you can contact them to arrange for a crib. Almost every condo resort will have cribs available, and many cabin owners also can provide cribs.
Or - doesn't you sister already have a travel cot (what americans call a crib)? If not - one would make a fine Christmas gift for her/the baby. You can buy them anywhere -- JC Penney, Target, childrens' stores, etc, etc. |
Everyone -
Thank you so much for your help on this. I think giving a portable travel crib to my sister for Christmas is the perfect idea! I did find Baby's Away on the internet & they deliver, so if purchasing the crib doesn't work - I will be calling them. Again - thanks for all of the suggestions. Happy Holidays - Emily |
