Lake Tahoe - Heavenly Village or Northstar Village

hey there

i am traveling to lake tahoe in the first week of december 2008 and looking for a real cozy, european-type of village atmosphere. Both Heavenly Village and Northstar look amazing and I can't decide!

We're not skiing or hiking, but just want to walk around in a beautiful atmosphere around quaint shops and restaurants. Would like to go to the casinos for a little bit too.
Thinking about Marriott's Timber Lodge (we WANT a fireplace and Whirlpool tub) over in Heavenly Village.

Any thoughts or preferences over the two areas? thanks!

Well in either spot I really don't think you'll get what you listed and cerrtainly not a European village atmosphere. Quaint shopping & restaurants? Neither place. Beautiful Atmosphere? Possibly both places.

Casinos close by? South Lake Tahoe.

I'd take the Timber Lodge over Northstar at the beginning of Dec. There will be much more to do in South Lake Tahoe.

For what you want, I'd also go with the Timber Lodge rather than Northstar.

The Timber Lodge is very nice, we enjoyed our 3 night stay there under the Timeshare invitation. ***kim***

squaw is also a nice village too but since you don't want to ski or hike, i totally agree with heavenly village but i prefer the marriot grand residences over timber lodge

Toncasmo,

could you tell me why you prefer the Grand Residences over Timber Lodge. I am able to get a fireplace and jacuzzi tub in a 1 bed villa at timber lodge and would want the same at Grand Residences.

thanks!

the room we had was just much nicer- it just seemed like everything was a step higher at the grand residences. that's all i meant- timber lodge was very nice too just not quite AS nice
does that help?
