Lake Superior
Do you have any information about a good trip around the lake superior ?
Thank's.

I have driven around Lake Superior, crossing at Ste. Sault Marie, continuing north to Wawa, and westward to what is now Thunder Bay and back into Minnesota.
I think the Michigan shore is more scenic, with a trip by boat to Ile Royal something interesting to do.
Just what did you have in mind? It is sort of a lonely trip in the sense of seeing a lot ot cities and towns. The country is sparsely populated.
But the woods of the upper peninsula of Michigan, particularly around Crystal Falls are pretty, particularly when the leaves start to turn.
I think you would prefer going to Isle Royale from Grand Portage, Minnesota. It is much closer - only about 25 miles as opposed to triple that or more from the Michigan side. Don't sell the Minnesota side of Lake Superior short either. It is beautiful also. I think you will enjoy it.

The Keewanaw peninsula/Copper Harbor are beautiful; I'd definately make a trip up there since you're going to be in the area. Pictured Rocks, Lake Gogebic, Taquammenon FAlls. It shouldn't be hard to fit them all in. A tour of a copper or iron mine is fun too. Enjoy Michigan! It;s the best!

Another beautiful and unique town on the Superior coast near Grand Portage is Grand Marais. There's a fun, huge "general store" and many artsy shops. Greatest pizza in the northwoods is Sven and Ole's in Grand Marais. There's a campground and townhouses to rent not far from town. This town is definitely worth at least a day's stop!
