Lake Powell, Page/ Arizona
 

Hello, our Family of 5 with 3 college kids will be in Page/ Lake Powell for 2 days in mid-May. We had booked a tour to visit Lower Antelope Canyon.
We would love to experience "Lake Powell" the rest of the time! Any suggestions where or what boat we should rent for the day? Or should we do a boat tour? Or float trip?

Bailey recommendation is best - purchase a boat tour to Rainbow bridge.
When finished have a BBQ dinner at Big Johns in page.

If the Rainbow Bridge tour doesn't work for you, we took the half day smooth water raft trip from the dam to Lee's Ferry and enjoyed it also.

We rented kayaks and paddled around on Lake Powell. It was so much fun. Just remember the distance you paddle out you must paddle back! The only problem was that sometimes speed boats go by creating some big waves which was a little annoying. You need to learn to turn the kayak into the wave. It was a fun day.

Spikeit, how many hours did you all kayaking? Do you feel that Lake Powell is "too big" to kayak? Did you have a guide or kayak on your own?

We took a flight site seeing excursion over Lake Powell. It was beautiful and informative.
