lake house

where is the best place to have a lake house. Preferably a lake view, not necessarily lake front, but clear water is a must Walking trails would be fantastic. Also, not too far from civilization. Primarily looking in the south and southeastern US.

If you want clear water check out Lake Gaston on the Virginia-Carolina border. Much less crowded than Smith Mountain.
