Lake Geneva, Wisconsin

Would anyone know if there is anything to do in Lake Geneva, Wisconsin in December. Just want to get away for the weekend. Can you suggest a bed and breakfast and dining options. Thanks for any help!

Patti
Lake Geneva has an ice carving show, kind of a winterfest weekend, I'm just not sure of the exact dates. Contact their chamber.
Most of the time that I spend there is in the summer, much water activity going on... there is a walking path that goes along the entire lake, great for checking out all of the estate homes that are there. There is a ton of history surrounding the area. See if you can get your hands on a book of history on the area.
Of course, shopping is always available. There are some fun shops.. some of my favorites are Wild & Wooly, Oh My Gauze, and the Lake Geneva Coffee Shop (skip Starbucks!).
Top notch lodging is the Geneva Inn. It's simply wonderful, lovely & quaint waterfront on Geneva Lake. The restaurant (esp. Sunday brunch) is perfect with lovely views from any table of the lake, piano on weekends...
it's a perfect spot for a weekend. The only drawback of staying there is that you will have to drive to town (3 minutes or so) as it's not w/in walking distance.
We stayed in a B&B last summer, but they moved and I'm not sure how it is now... I can't remember the name... I'll see if I can round up some info from a local travel guide I have kicking around somewhere.
Geneva Inn is the way to go if you've never been there and you can afford their rates. They should be somewhat discounted in Dec. though.
I haven't been to Lake Geneva in the winter...only in the fall. I've stayed at the Bella Vista Suites which have fireplaces and balconies overlooking the lake and is within walking distance of downtown. Another great shop to visit for holiday decorating is The Cornerstone Shoppe downtown...rooms and rooms filled with wonderful items!
